  • 🌊 Over ten tonnes of plastic removed from Lincolnshire beaches Since plastic pellets known as 'nurdles' were first spotted along the Lincolnshire coast on 17 March, teams from East Lindsey District Council have been working hard to clean up our shores. These clumps of burnt plastic were washed up following an incident in the North Sea earlier this month. Thanks to the incredible efforts of the clean-up crews — and reports from the public — over 10 tonnes of plastic have now been collected and taken to Lincolnshire County Council’s waste transfer station in Louth. From there, it will be safely disposed of through energy recovery. This work is ongoing, as more pollutants continue to wash ashore. 📣 Please note: While crews focus on the beaches, there may be some delays to litter bin collections and street cleaning in other areas of East Lindsey. We appreciate your patience. If you see 'nurdles' on the beach: 🔹 Don’t touch or move them 🔹 Keep children and pets away 🔹 Report sightings here: https://lnkd.in/eX9yy9sp Every report helps our teams act quickly and effectively. Thank you to everyone supporting the clean-up efforts to protect our coastline! #Lincolnshire #BeachCleanUp #PlasticPollution #EastLindsey #EnvironmentalProtection #Nurdles #TeamEffort #ProtectOurCoastlines
