Broadcast Tech's #TechFest kicked off this week with an in-depth review of the challenges and opportunities facing the industry. The need to capture old archive material as tape formats deteriorate is accelerating, just as worldwide demand for archive news coverage is increasing, whether that is for documentary output or context for drama. Tami Hoffman and Matt Harris from our client ITN discussed the incredible depth and breadth of the ITN news archive and explained their decision-making process, whilst factoring in where AI and blockchain fit in to authenticating the provenance of footage. Our team especially enjoyed the showreel of events covered since 1955 - fascinating and quite nostalgic!
