Exciting news – we’re hiring! We’re looking for a Senior/Associate Urban Designer and a Residential Layout Designer to join our team! If that sounds like you head to our website for all the details! In other news…Isabelle was back at Coventry Uni this week talking all things Urban Design with second year students, we were thrilled to discover that we’ve been shortlisted for the Architecture Awards 2025, hosted by BUILD Magazine, for our “innovative approach to Urban Design - championing inclusivity and sustainability” (if you think we’ve made an impact you can vote for us on their website!), and Hannah talked intersectionality after being invited to join a panel of wonderful speakers to present our winning NLA ‘Made for Me’ concept to celebrate #IWD, in a collaboration between RTPI International & Women in Planning! What a week! Happy Friday! Team edge x

    🌟 Co-Founder, edge UD 🌟 Woman of Influence 2024 🌟 Hon Sec & Trustee UDG 🌟 Ideas Lady 🌟

Did you know that the 🌟disabled community🌟 is the only one that any of us can join overnight 🌙 ? So... are we designing 🎨 for Intersectionality? This was a huge take away for me after joining a panel of wonderful speakers with Lawrence Barraclough -presenting our winning NLA ‘Made for Me’ concept to celebrate #IWD in a collaboration between RTPI International & Women in Planning 🙋♀️ Fellow speakers Clive Gilbert from National Centre for Accessible Transport (ncat) 🚲 and Susan Leadbetter from WSP shed light on the importance of considering movement and placemaking 🌆 from a diversity of perspectives. We were followed by Tomas Johnson Jenna Dutton and Jennie Savage FRSA who explored a gendered approach to Planning and Tomas discussed the “...development of robust planning policies which seek to guarantee that new development is designed by a diverse team...” 📚 and we were led and chaired by the seamless tag team that is Charlotte Morphet MRTPI FRSA AoU and Machel Bogues! We met the wonderful team at Westminster City Council, thank you for hosting us Setareh Neshati, Holly Rosevear, Ashley ... we will all be watching your great work on local Health and Wellbeing Hubs! 🌳💛 Two incredible ladies bookended the day with RTPI president Helen Fadipe MBE. FRTPI, FRSA.'s call to action (one you would like Glenn Lyons) – “You can never afford to pull the ladder 🪜 away, leave the ladder behind, to allow others to climb behind you” 🩷. The inspiring Gabrielle Appiah summed up the day for us all! It was a day filled with energy and enthusiasm for creating change! Lawrence and I went on the hunt for the audience’s thoughts, watch this space for some amateur journalism from me and expert filmmaking from Lawrence in the next few weeks on behalf of our #MadeForMe team edge Urban Design Niamh Brady-Wright Liane Hartley FRSA Jeff Nottage Natasha Reid FRSA Richard M. • A huge official edge WELCOME to Carina, who has joined us as Graduate Urban Designer! Here are some fun facts about the lovely Carina: 🌟 I’m a huge fan of stand-up comedy—Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, you name it! When it comes to telling jokes, I stick to laughing at the professionals. 🌟 No phone has lasted more than 2 years with me... guess I'm always ready for an upgrade! Maybe it's the excitement of getting the latest gadget? 🤳 🌟 I used to play professional tennis! Unfortunately, I couldn’t keep up with the racket so I now just keep the competitive spirit alive. 💪🎾 🌟 I could wear a different outfit every day for a YEAR and still have clothes left over! The perks of working in retail... and maybe the reason why I’m always running out of space in my closet. 🌟 I’m all about playing with my daughter—acting silly, dancing, singing, and buying ALL the toys. Let’s be real, she steals my phone and watches her YouTube videos whilst I’m left dancing alone. 🌟 I’m still rocking the same email address I set up over 20 years ago. It’s like an old friend 🙂 Welcome to the team Carina! 💖
