EN:Procure are jointly hosting a roundtable online with the Housing Ombudsman on Wednesday 20th November. Discussion will focus on themes in their forthcoming report ‘Repairing Trust’, exploring the challenges and opportunities in housing maintenance, particularly in light of rising disrepair complaints, increased costs, and a shortage of skilled workers. The report highlights safety concerns for residents and proactive steps by some landlords in preparation for Awaab’s Law, which will enforce repair timelines and record-keeping. We will explore the relationships between landlords, contractors, and residents, particularly around accountability and the importance of communication and trust. Our time will focus on four main themes: · challenges for landlords, · difficulties faced by residents, · barriers for contractors/operatives, · and success stories that can inform future practices. If you would like to join the roundtable please contact director of operations Emma Mottram https://lnkd.in/ewv7YXZq #RepairingTrust #ukhousing #repairsandmaintenance #installers #ukconstruction #loveconstruction EN:Able Futures EN:Able Build Limited EN:Able Communities

EN:Able Futures is committed to providing the very best apprenticeship opportunities to the young people of the region and the industry. @EN:Able Build is an innovative venture which aims to accelerate the delivery of affordable new-build housing schemes in the region by facilitating the building of projects that might have otherwise been delayed or not developed at all, and bring forward sites with developed infrastructure and serviced plots for self-build customers and SMEs.

Check out the before and after photos from our latest handover in Selby, where we are delivering capital void refurbishments for North Yorkshire Council through the Efficiency North installers framework! This property suffered with rising damp to all ground floor walls, where a chemical injected DPC and membrane system has been installed. We also installed a new kitchen, bathroom and windows. Certus Construction Services are approved contractors on the latest EN:Procure Installers Framework. The framework is predominantly focused on the delivery of work to social housing properties in Yorkshire and Humber, for more information on the framework visit En:Procure's website here: https://lnkd.in/evewsaGi

Great round up of response to the Budget in Housing Digital including comment from our chief executive Lee Parkinson MCIPS MIoD FRSA with a common theme welcoming renewed focus on social housing and concerns that further steps are required if the government are to address the scale of the challenge. #ukhousing #Budget2024
The chancellor of the exchequer has earned herself a round of applause from the sector for a strong focus on housing, but there’s also a sense she needs to go much further to make a real difference. #ukhousing #Budget2024 #politics Rt Hon Rachel Reeves National Housing Federation Kate Henderson Chartered Institute of Housing Gavin Smart Riverside Paul Dolan Orbit Group Phil Andrew Aster Group UK Bjorn Howard VIVID Mark Perry Places for People John Greaves Thrive Homes UK Elspeth Mackenzie Raven Housing Trust Jonathan Higgs Manningham Housing Association Lee Bloomfield Northern Housing Consortium Tracy Harrison Efficiency North Lee Parkinson MCIPS MIoD FRSA London Councils Florence Eshalomi Anthony Collins Jonathan Cox TLT LLP David Meecham The Housing Finance Corp. Talk about going full circle! Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure to be able to attend a careers fair at my old school, Forge Valley School! With the merger of my previous school Myers Grove with Wisewood School, I joined the brand new Forge Valley in 2011 to be the first cohort of Year 11's. It was like walking into a time machine, and made me wonder 'where have all these years gone?' The school AstroTurf that we would have our daily kick about on, the Lecture Theatre where we performed in the Battle of the Bands and the Sixth Form Café, Café Six, where I listened to Jake Bugg's debut album daily on repeat. Every student has a story and every student has a future, and it was great to be able to speak to them. I am one of them, despite having a lot more wrinkles and certainly a lot less hair! It was great to be able to promote apprenticeships as well as answer any questions that the Year 11's had. Thank You to Sarah and Forge Valley for organising and for having me. It really meant a lot.
