Research Services
We are a community engagement agency focused on improving diversity & inclusion in health research and clinical trials.
About us
We are a community engagement agency focused on improving diversity in health research and clinical trials. We connect community organisations with the health research sector and foster relationships built on trust, proper engagement, and fair reimbursement. Why We Exist There are considerable and persistent health inequalities experienced by the ethnic minority population in the UK Health research and clinical trials do not fairly represent these populations, meaning health services and treatments may be less effective. Community organisations do amazing work engaging people in health research, but their methods of communication and engagement are not used widely. If they were, this could significantly improve diversity in health research and clinical trials.

Had a lovely filming-day a few weeks ago, bringing together people with lived experience, community leaders and health care professionals, to talk about breast cancer clinical trials. These films are part of a joint project with the Race and Health Observatory, Macmillan, and Roche to increase diversity in breast cancer clinical trials. They will be used to inform and support people from African, Caribbean and South Asian communities make a decision on whether they want to take part in a trial. Thank you again to all those who shared their powerful stories with us on the day. ❤ Roche Macmillan Cancer Support Jane Ho-Renton Majeda Rahman Chowdhury NHS Race & Health Observatory

Mental health has overtaken cancer and obesity as the primary health concern for people in the UK, according to Ipsos’ latest global survey. With 54% of Britons citing mental wellbeing as a major worry, experts are linking this trend to the long-lasting impact of the pandemic, economic pressures, and increasing stress levels. This shift highlights the growing demand for mental health services and the need to prioritise mental wellbeing in health policies. #MentalHealthMatters #HealthCare #UKWellbeing #MentalHealth Read more about the survey here: https://lnkd.in/dQdv-tad

Thousands of trans patients in England are being excluded from vital cancer screenings due to poor data collection and updating processes. Experts have warned at the World Cancer Congress that Trans men and women are missing breast and cervical screenings because the NHS uses ‘gender’, not ‘sex assigned at birth’, to generate invitations for routine exams. For example, trans men who may have undergone chest reconstruction may still need to attend routine screenings for breast cancer, which they might not be invited to. This gap highlights an urgent need for a more inclusive approach to healthcare that doesn’t place the burden on trans individuals to request essential tests. #InclusiveHealth #CancerScreening #EqualityInCare Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gFa5t5kw

Tech-driven care is making a difference in dementia support. Northern Ireland’s rollout of high-tech wristbands, which store vital information like contact details, offers greater safety and independence to individuals with dementia. A simple scan of the QR code provides immediate access to the wearer's details, helping reunite loved ones quickly if they go missing. This initiative by Age Concern Causeway not only enhances personal care but also raises awareness around dementia in local communities. #DementiaCare #HealthTech #HealthcareInnovation Read more about the innovative tech here: Dementia: Wristband scheme ‘a positive first’ for NI - BBC News
