A video made by one of our participants on The Rewilding Training. Ella Hewton felt so inspired at our final residential last week that she took it upon herself to interview her fellow Rewilders during the weekend to find out what they love about the course, and then sent it over to us today. Thank you Ella! Join us on this incredible, life-changing Training https://lnkd.in/eSFr6VRi #rewilding #connection #community #naturerecovery #TheRewildingTraining

Gerry O'Brien completed The Rewilding Training with us here at Embercombe and is still very much an active alumni in our "Myceliumni" group. For Gerry to give such a profound and passionate recommendation of the course, when he was already an established professional and author in the field of nature connection before attending means so much to us and shows how transformative and empowering the course is to people of all walks of life. Delighted to receive my Rewilding Certificate from Embercombe From the first moment, I saw the course, I knew I had to do it and I can honestly say that it more than lived up to my expectations. The course content of course was brilliant & the calibre of tutoring incredible but the biggest takeaway was the amazing #community that we created. In these times of climate crisis and biodiversity loss, it is heartening to study & work alongside so many committed & passionate individuals. People who care about nature recovery & ecological restoration. People who aren't prepared to sit back and watch helplessly as habitats degrade & species slip into decline. It is heartening to think of all the positive ripples spreading out from our amazing cohort. There are so many individuals working hard for #naturerecovery and their passion, energy & ingenuity gives me #hope that better times lie ahead for our beleagured wildlife. Thank you to all my amazing cohort for your wonderful support & for sharing the journey with me :-) #hope #positivity #makeadifference

In a time of great ecological turmoil, I find my heart is constantly yearning for glimmers of hope. Bright spots on the horizon that I can hang my hat on. I'm so glad that I was raised by parents who instilled in me a belief in myself that meant that I was able to create my own glimmers. A massive one for me has been The Rewilding Training. As part of my work with Ecosystem Restoration Communities, I have been supporting Embercombe in the creation of this training, designed to educate, inspire, and up-skill 50 people a year to become rewilding practitioners and consultants. This video is a group testimonial from some of those students. https://lnkd.in/eDxHHcud It makes me cry every time I watch it. 'I love this group, for the sense of hope it gives me'. 'Being part of this group has changed the tone of my life, to thinking about the collapse of civilisation and biodiversity, to working for the non human beings, with other human beings'. We at Embercombe are honoured to be so close to this incredible project. Looking forward with hope that we will have one (or a pair!!) of the Two Moors Pine Martens on our camera traps one day, exploring our rich and diverse woodland as they should be.
After a 150 year absence, Devon Wildlife Trust and partners have successfully reintroduced pine martens to #Dartmoor! Here's Lucie to explain what happens on the day of the release. Watch the moment that one of the #PineMartens takes its first steps into Dartmoor's woodlands. This positive conservation success still needs support to monitor released pine martens and ensure a second successful release on Exmoor in 2025. Get in touch today if you’d like to be part of this ground breaking reintroduction of one of our most iconic woodland mammals. If you are interested in supporting the project do contact Sarah at DWT sshaw@devonwildlifetrust.org You can watch the story of the release 👉 https://buff.ly/3zbrfCA Pine Martens Bounce Back: The #TwoMoorsPineMartenProject is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to #NationalLottery players, this project aims to restore healthy populations of pine martens to the South West of England. Devon Wildlife Trust, in partnership with @lovedartmoor, @exmoornp, @forestryengland, @nationaltrust, @somersetwt and @woodlandtrust will be leading this exciting reintroduction project, centred in Dartmoor and Exmoor.
