It's a benefit that is nearly entirely ignored. The standing military has been around for a few hundred years as we know it today, and costs have only risen. Baryonyx STW-50 (integrated in the ESI CUAS munition) is unique: Target Takedown ☄ 💨 , without the Tungsten. 💣 💥 Instead of using either a continuous rod or directional fragementation, a munition with an STW-50 warhead doesn't need to penetrate, doesn't need to fragment, and doesn't require conventional explosives...it doesn't even require a fragmentation casing! Instead, our gel-adhesive obstructive substance can disable a drone and (largely) preserve it as it falls to earth with an incredibly powerful gel-adhesive expanding foam. In short, a munition incorporating GOO rather than metal. This provides us a number of benefits, inclusive of far simpler logistics, greater safety, and far greater forward intelligence collection (it does help somewhat to collect intel from a vehicle when it hasn't been quite literally shredded to bits.) We've talked about those benefits quite a bit, but behind the scenes, our chemical engineers have done far more with STW-50 than facilitating battlespace performance... A benefit that we haven't really brought up so far is STW-50's chemical simplicity: as a substance, it's base derivation is from easily obtainable materials that are widely commercially available (with the only part truly requiring specialist expertise being process and ratio precision for STW-50 performance.) Our GOO is simple enough to be sourced in abundance, even in times of conflict given its synthetic properties; something that's not so simple to do with conventional tungsten carbide munitions...especially when China is the world's largest tungsten producer... (N.B, such ease of manufacture may seem concerning when discussing a substance that is ultimately integrated into the effector warhead of a combat drone/missile, but unlike other munitions, thanks to STW-50 and an innovative linear motor launch, ESI CUAS cannot be weaponised, making it the ideal air defence solution for more broad applications (potentially even inclusive of commercial operations like mines, airports, or sites of humanitarian aid, made all the more achievable by low cost!)) #defence #defenceindustry #military #armedforces #drone #drones #missile #dronewars #cuas #uas #eurostatory #eurosatory24 #eurostatory2024 #munition #missiles #effector #baryonyx #airforce #royalairforce #esi
