At ASCO, supporting our local communities and charities is close to our colleagues' hearts. Across the globe they have gone above and beyond in 2024 to support incredible causes in their communities. From fundraising for wildlife rescue in Scotland to providing holiday meals in Canada and supporting youth sports in Norway, our teams have made a real difference. Here’s a look at some of the fantastic initiatives from our teams around the world: Northern UK - Raised £8,400 for New Arc, the largest wildlife rescue centre in North-East Scotland, through football tournaments, quiz nights, and family fun days. The team also supported Mission Christmas, Buchan Giving Tree, and local food banks. In 2025, they’ll be fundraising for Charlie House, a charity supporting children with life-limiting conditions. Southern UK - Fundraised for Nelson’s Journey, a bereavement support charity for children, with beach cleans, raffles, and bake sales. Over the festive season, they organised a Christmas jumper day and collected donations for Christmas food hampers. Norway - Continued their support for the Cancer Society and invested 50,000 NOK in youth sports, particularly less mainstream sports. Looking ahead to 2025, the team remain committed to the Cancer Society and will continue to support youth sports, with a focus on American football clubs. Newfoundland, Canada - In February, they marked Pink Shirt Day to raise awareness about workplace bullying, donated school supplies to Single Parents Association of Newfoundland, and contributed $5,000 to the Young Adult Cancer Centre. In 2025, they’ll be joining the St. John’s Pride Parade to support inclusion. Manatokan, Canada – Partnered with Conklin Regional Development Advisory Committee (CRDAC) to provide home cooked holiday meals for the local elderly, supported the Lac La Biche Women’s Shelter, and contributed to local youth sports. Australia - Raised over $7,000 for charities, including Cancer Council of Australia, through BBQs, quiz nights, and golf days. They also supported Dolly’s Dream, Movember, local food banks, and supported holiday initiatives such as the Christmas Wishing Tree for children and the Salvation Army’s gift-wrapping initiative. A huge thank you to all our colleagues who organised and took part in these initiatives! Your generosity and dedication to making a difference are inspiring and fill us with pride. #TeamASCO #Charity #Community #ASCOLifestyle
