⚡ We welcome today's report from the National Energy System Operator, which outlines the bold measures required to deliver the government's clean power mission. 💡 Businesses will welcome this positive set of measures, as they recognise that with the right approach the target is achievable and can provide significant benefits for the UK. It's now critical we ensure that the ambitious enabling policy framework required is delivered. 📈 The report further highlights that achieving clean power by 2030 can boost energy security by ending our reliance on volatile international gas prices, accelerate progress on #climate targets, all while driving growth across the country. 🤝 Crucially, it makes clear the need to address the UK's planning system to ensure we create the critical infrastructure required. In two weeks we will launch a new collaborative report with RenewableUK and CPRE The countryside charity, outlining how this can be achieved while ensuring communities remain on board with the process. 💵 Ensuring the success of future CfD rounds for renewable energy, while reforming electricity markets and connections processes will also be vital. By acting decisively, the government can create an environment that crowds in the private investment required to drive the transition. Read more ⬇ https://lnkd.in/eqz69SKH

To become a clean energy superpower we'll need even more renewable energy, and it will be critical that we build the right infrastructure in the right places and at the right time. Our strategic spatial energy plan will act as a blueprint for how we can achieve this. Strategically planning our future projects in this way has the potential to cut grid connection times and overall costs. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eNPHgjqK National Energy System Operator
