In June 2022, Health Canada | Santé Canada announced a crucial update to the Food and Drug Regulations: the introduction of Front-of-Pack (FOP) nutrition labelling. This update mandates that packaged foods high in saturated fats, sugars, and/or sodium must display a specific symbol on the front of their packaging.
