Surprise! We're relaunching the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund as the Esmée Fairbairn *Communities and* Collections Fund on 5 December 🥳 The purpose of the fund remains the same: we still want to support museums and their community partners for inclusive collections and participation work – the new name simply better represents our dual focus on collections and inclusion 🤝 The way we fund is also being updated to make partnership applications easier and to link fixed-term work to long-term thinking and relationships. You can find out more about the newly-renamed fund here, and applications for the first round will be open from 5 December 👉 https://mus.ms/efccf Esmée Fairbairn Foundation #Funding #MuseumFunding

Don't miss the latest episodes of Collective Discovery's brilliant Shift Podcast, which explores how shifts in relationships and power can make the world better 🙌 The episodes focus on how organisations are involving young people in their work - and the impact the young people are having, not just on the work but on the organisations themselves. Episode 8 looks at how sharing power has changed organisations, and features Catherine Hillis, Esmée's Director of A Fairer Future, on the impact our Involving Young People Collective has had on us as an organisation; alongside Anne-Marie Douglas and Nicola Kidston, Co-CEOs of Peer Power Youth; and Michael Lister, Chair of the Mix’s Youth Advisory Board. 🎧 https://lnkd.in/e8YzxFcW In Episode 7, they focus on young people as grantmakers and you can hear directly from one of our former young consultants, Daniel Seifu, and Keji Okeowo, Director at HUDL: Youth Development Agency, who facilitated our work with the Involving Young People Collective. They also talk to The Blagrave Trust about the Listening Fund. 🎧 https://lnkd.in/eeZvBDg7 You can find a full list of episodes here: https://lnkd.in/gdXfBG-u

It's a good thing once in a while to take a step back and appreciate the progress. The UK has a thriving impact investment ecosystem, and I enjoyed feeding into this City of London Corporation and British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) partnership to support the UK as a Centre of Excellence for Impact Investing. It's all worth a read, but page 23 looks at the fantastic Ooooby as a case study - a UK food system venture we have invested into.

Great to see a new report by City of London Corporation and British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) highlighting the UK as a Centre of Excellence for Impact Investing, as mentioned at the UN Global Compact UK Annual Summit at Guildhall today. It shows how impact investing goes beyond traditional finance, targeting positive, measurable social and environmental impact alongside financial returns, and assesses the UK's status as a Centre of Excellence through 5 criteria: 🎯 Clear Mission: The UK's strong commitment to sustainable and responsible investment practices. 💡 Knowledge and Expertise: Leading research, thought leadership, and best practices in the impact investing space. 📈 Scale: The UK's significant impact investing market size and growing global influence. 🌟 Leading Talent: A vibrant ecosystem of investors, entrepreneurs, and professionals driving change. 💪 Capacity Building: Initiatives that nurture the next generation of impact-focused investors and businesses. • Quote from Jonny Page, Head of Social and Impact Investment at Esmée Fairbairn Foundation. It says "The UK has a thriving impact investment ecosystem, from collaborations, advisors, and banks, through to companies, managers, and asset owners. This ecosystem has been developed by brilliant people. The UK benefits from a compelling combination of deep impact and investment expertise." It shows a picture of Jonny and features the logos of the City of London, The Global City, and BVCA.
