Meet Brendan Smith our new Senior Survey Analyst based in Red Deer Alberta! With an Instrumentation/Automation background, Brendan started in the oilfield 22 years ago as a field engineer and PL specialist for Schlumberger (4 years). He then moved into an analyst role, mentoring and technical support for IPS and Expro where he specialized in production logging including horizontal PLs (MAPS) as well as cased hole well integrity logging (Multi-finger Calipers, Magnetic Thickness Tools, Noise/Temperature, Cement Bond Logs). Brendan has been using our Multi-finger Image Processing Software (MIPS) since he joined Expro in 2012 (12 years) and has always admired how it allows the visual perspective and interaction of the caliper data and the excellent support from the Epidote team. Brendan joins EV to support the caliper service in the Western hemisphere and is currently learning the PDA (Pipe Deformation Analysis) camera and ultrasonic analysis to broaden his support. “I admire how EV incorporates the camera information with the caliper and ultrasonic data. EV continuously strives to improve their technology, software and analysis techniques with the downhole video and tool data. I hope to be involved with this development and add value to the team.” “Working with EV so far, I enjoy the positive and enthusiastic team which feels like a family. Though there is a lot to learn, they have been incredibly supportive which makes it an easier transition.” As well as spending time with his family and friends, Brendan practices Karate and enjoys being outdoors paddling, camping and hiking. He also finds has balance in life by being creative like cooking or building a number of items in his garage out of wood and metal. When he does find time to relax, he enjoys watching movies. Welcome to the EV team Brendan! #meettheteam #loganlayst #teamEV
