Special delivery to site this week from Whitecroft Lighting using their Geopak technology. Sustainability and minimising waste (in particular single use plastic) is something that we as a company feel very passionate about. Using this minimal waste solution, we are able to have our materials delivered safely to site, reduce the waste that can often end up in landfill and proceed with the project in the most time efficient manner. It was good to get out to site last week to see how work was progressing on our latest project, a 10.8kWp system for blue self storage at their newest site in Treforest. By combining this array with 23kWh of battery storage, the system is predicted to cover almost 70% of the sites total energy consumption! With more sites to follow, Evans Electrical Ltd are proud to be working alongside Dean Daly and the team to help them achieve energy security across the business.

This year we will again be supporting The Dalmatian Bike Ride on 7th June 2025 in aid of St David's Hospice Care in Newport. This will be our 14th consecutive year championing this amazing charity. It is an opportunity to down tools, come together and raise money for an organisation that plays such a pivotal role during the hardest of times for so many families. 🩷 The work they do and the support they offer focuses on improving the quality of life for individuals with terminal illnesses, providing comfort, symptom management, and emotional, social, and spiritual support for both the patient and their families. It was great to hear the news today of how the Government plan to invest 180 million pounds in solar energy across schools and hospitals throughout the UK. It is part of the UK Governments plan to reduce the country's planet-warming emissions. 👏 Well here at Evans, we are playing our part. As part of our social value commitment, we are again helping a local school improve their energy efficiency by donating materials, providing free labour and helping them in becoming more energy efficient (in turn reducing their budget zapping bills at the same time). 😄 After running this scheme previously with Ysgol Berllan Deg in Cardiff, we are excited to do so again in an effort to give back to our community and to those who really need the support. Progress Update from London Road Fire Station Project in Manchester! We're excited to share that our team is making great strides at the historic London Road Fire Station alongside our partners at CMB Engineering. As part of the ongoing electrical works, we've been busy installing containment systems, pulling in cables, and mounting distribution boards — all critical steps to modernising this iconic building while ensuring it's future-proofed for the needs of today and tomorrow. What's truly special about this project is the challenge of working on a Grade II listed building. We, alongside our partners, are committed to preserving the station's original features and architectural charm while carrying out essential electrical upgrades. Every step is being taken with care and attention to detail to ensure that the building's historic value is maintained throughout. Exciting Milestone at Fairwater Community Campus! 😁 This week has been a significant one as we’ve taken delivery of our close-coupled 2MVA oil transformer & HV switch!
