We are kicking off 2025 with some exciting news! Evolve Estates, part of the commercial property and investment collective, M Core Property, has acquired Elephant Park's Retail and Leisure core, the 120,000 sq ft retail and leisure space from Lendlease in Elephant Park, one of London’s key mixed-use regeneration projects in Central London. Located in the historic Elephant & Castle area of central London, Elephant Park is a flagship development delivered in partnership between Lendlease and Southwark Council. The project has already provided nearly 3,000 new homes and is centred around a new park featuring mature trees and green spaces. The retail and leisure space at Elephant Park brings together a unique mix of independent retailers that cover an array of global cuisines, cafés, fitness, leisure, bars, and community purposes. Sebastian Macdonald-Hall Partner, Evolve Estates commented, “We were attracted to Elephant Park's successful regeneration project, creating new homes, offices, green spaces, and jobs. We want to build on this by working with local stakeholders to develop a thriving and diverse community. "This is a significant acquisition for us, demonstrating our ability to invest, manage and develop the retail and leisure proposition within one of London's largest regeneration areas." "We made fourteen acquisitions in 2024, which form part of our growth plans. As a business, we will continue our growth trajectory for 2025 with further announcements coming soon." Guy Thomas, Head of Retail and Place Assets at Lendlease, added: “Lendlease has led the Elephant Park journey for over a decade, starting with the creation of Artworks and evolving it into the vibrant destination it is today." “Its development is a source of great pride for the team, as we created a thriving community hub in Zone 1, made possible by the exceptional local and national businesses that now call Elephant Park home. We look forward to seeing Elephant Park’s commercial ground floor flourish under Evolve’s ownership.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/eiMpyrQd CBRE acted for Lendlease, and HampsonWall acted for Evolve. The Killingworth Centre reveals new mural in partnership with local high school. The site team at The Killingworth Centre, ran a tombola in which they were gifted items from the retailers and market traders at the scheme. As a result, the team managed to raise £800 towards the project. George Stephenson High School also made a further financial contribution. The lucky winner of the competition was Amy M. Amy’s mural design centres around her school’s ethos which focuses on community, ambition and respect. The installers of the mural were 'Promote Your School'. Gill Wallis, Site Manager at The Killingworth Centre, said: “We are always looking at ways in which we can partner with local businesses or community groups, and a school competition with George Stephenson seemed the ideal choice for this project. On behalf of The Killingworth Centre, I would like to say thank you to Mr Cartwright from the school for organising the competition, as well as all the students who entered their designs for the mural. “A massive well done to Amy for her winning entry and we would encourage anyone visiting the shopping centre to look at Amy’s fantastic work. We look forward to being involved in other community outreach in the future.”
