Fantastic memories from #escrs2024 in Barcelona, but can conferences be too big? Winning #sustainability trophies, moderating research sessions, chairing symposia, speaking and sharing clinical tips, and being awarded #simulation merch was great, but the best was time well spent in #community with the #eyefamily. I reckon The European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) could run an even more successful conference if the programme was slightly less, but included scheduled R&R time, allowing people to catch up properly in dedicated #network sessions, rather than resorting to brief “walk and talk” moments as we all hike around the huge venues. What was your experience?
