Graeme Booth, Associate Partner in our residential property team, recently took part in Tough Mudder with a team of fundraisers for Stable Lives, which included TV presenter Ben Shepherd. As anyone who's ever watched or taken part in a Tough Mudder challenge will know, it's not easy, but the team pulled together to complete the course (getting suitably muddy along the way, as you can see!). Graeme has raised over £600 so far which will be match-funded by the Farleys Foundation. The money will go to the Wigan-based mental health charity which supports people by providing a calm, safe location with horses and land-based activities to improve confidence, self-esteem and self-worth. Graeme's fundraising page is still open if you would like to donate to this brilliant cause: https://bit.ly/3YBiLOG

We’re back with another Weird Law Wednesday, and this one’s a real head-scratcher! 🍻 Did you know? Under Section 12 of the Licensing Act 1872, you could actually be fined for being drunk... in a pub! Talk about ironic, right? Although it's rarely enforced, the Licensing Act 2003 also makes it illegal for pubs to serve alcohol to someone who's clearly intoxicated—so pub staff could face penalties too! Stay tuned for more weird and wonderful laws!
