Last week, some of the #TeamFOH celebrated #IWD2024 with an afternoon out of the office!   The UK construction industry achieved a milestone in 2023 with 15.8% of its workforce being female (Office for National Statistics) - an increase of over 3% on the pre-pandemic level). However, the UKCW (2024) have said that the “lack of visibility and limited mentorship opportunities can make it challenging for women to envision a long-term and successful career in construction.”   That is why the theme for #IWD2024 this year of #InspireInclusion is so important so that as an industry we turn our focus to inspiring others to understand and value women's inclusion. At Felix O’Hare, we will always seek to foster a workplace culture where everyone feels valued, respected and included. We will promote the incredible work done by the women in #TeamFOH so that young women can see the opportunities which exist for them in this industry. We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our site team working on an exciting project underway in Belfast. Benefits: Competitive Salary, Training and Development, Professional Accreditation Mentorship & Progression The Site Engineer will be responsible for: Setting-out and surveying and ensuring all works are completed in line with project drawings specifications and building regulations Liaising with sub-contractors and personnel on site in the planning and construction of the project Maintaining strong relationships with the construction management team, subcontractors and site personnel. Reviewing drawings and quantities Scheduling selected materials for ordering with the Procurement Department Arranging testing of materials Undertaking testing and calibration of equipment used Introducing improvements and innovation where appropriate Other duties as required by the Contracts & Site Manager to facilitate construction of the works About You: The ideal candite will have 4+ years’ experience working as a Site Engineer, preferably on large scale construction projects and be adept at Setting-Out and Surveying. Requirements: HND/Degree Qualification in Engineering or Construction Management At least 4 years’ experience post graduate with a main contractor in UK or ROI Ability to use setting-out instruments and adept in all aspects of set out, survey & level, temporary works coordination.
