    Building Software Engineering teams for start-ups & scale-ups @ Few&Far

Do people value recommendations on LinkedIn? Or even look at them right at the bottom of your profile? Recruitment is tough, we all know that, but working with wicked people, successfully placing them and hearing how much they're enjoying their new roles makes it worth it🙌 And on top of that, being sent recommendations from them is the cherry on top, and helps build your personal brand🚀 Below is a few recent recommendations of people I've worked with recently - "George is one of the best recruiters I have had the pleasure of working with, he was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout the entire process, providing detailed feedback and preparation assistance at every step of the way. On top of all that he was a genuinely nice person who was always wonderful to interact with." "George helped place me with an AI startup as part of the founding engineering team. He was super friendly and personable, taking time to really understand what I was after in regards to position, benefits and career growth. Then when having received confirmation of an incoming offer, got me the best offer I could have asked for, beyond expectations. Really appreciate his efforts and would absolutely work with him again in the future." If you're looking for your next role within the PYTHON space, hit me up!! #recommendations #python

"As a founder, how would you approach the first fund rising?" These are just some of the questions we delved into during our Equity 101 event, hosted in collaboration with Creandum a couple of weeks ago. The session was designed to shed light on the complexities of navigating stock options, share distributions, and equity agreements, equipping all of the womxn in the room from the tech industry with practical knowledge to make informed decisions in their careers and ventures. This is one way to cut a slice through the recruitment noise 🍕 Pizza Hut turned the ‘September Surge’ job hunt into a clever campaign: delivering a pizza and your CV on the pizza box, straight to the company you are applying for. Potentially as controversial as pineapple on pizza, but a fun and tasty way to grab a hiring manager's attention. What do you think is the best way to cut through the noise in recruitment?

I help brands - and personal brands - cut through the noise | Award-Winning Art Director | Tedx Speaker | Cannes Future Lions Judge

Is THIS how you cut through the noise in marketing?? 🤯 I loveee this nifty campaign from Pizza Hut. The brand identified that 75% of resumes sent are never read (shock). And they wanted to do something to help their New York customers who are on the job hunt during peak period 'September Surge.' So, the campaign offers the delivery of a freshly cooked pizza to an office of your choice WITH your resume printed on the box. Because who would ignore a pizza?! All you have to do is go to their website and enter your details. I've been thinking a lot about what makes a successful brand in 2024 (and beyond), and I really feel that this idea of 'co-creation' - in other words - building your brand WITH your audience is a game changer. Less Return On Investment. More Return On Involvement. Those who feel supported by a brand are more likely to stick around for the long term. Nice one, Pizza Hut. Can I have ham and pineapple on mine though?!

At the start of our Equity 101 event last week, we asked the women in attendance: "On a scale of 1 to 5, how confident are you in understanding share options?" The results were eye-opening—36% of attendees rated their confidence at 1, due to a lack of familiarity with the intricacies of equity and share options. That’s why we organised this event, in collaboration with Creandum, to help bridge this gap and empower women with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their share options and equity. We believe everyone deserves to approach these topics with confidence, regardless of their starting point. Through the insightful presentation by Michelle C. and Richard Keuntje and the informative panel discussion with Fernanda Dobal, Amy Combrinck ACC and Susana Videira Lopes, we aimed to demystify share options and make the process of understanding them more approachable. A huge thank you to all the incredible women who joined us and a special shoutout to Creandum, who have been wonderful hosts and partners. Keep an eye out for future events—there’s much more to come. 🚀
