From Steward to Head of Finance 🚀 John Bolton joined #TeamFGH in 2018 as a Steward while studying Accounting and Finance at Lancaster University.  🏉 John was recruited through Lancaster University Rugby Union as part of our student sponsorship program where we provide sports teams with sponsorship and employment opportunities.   🪪 He loved working at events, so he took the opportunity to get his SIA Door Supervision Licence. This allowed him to work as Event Security, and it wasn't long until John advanced to a Security Supervisor position. 🎓 Upon graduating, John was successful in applying for our Graduate Management Accountant Role and has worked at Head Office since 2020. 📈 As the organisation grew, so did John’s team, allowing him to take on more responsibility and step into the role of Finance Manager. 📚 Through our personal learning and development fund scheme, John was enrolled with CIMA, The Chartered Institute of Management Accounting, to study the CGMA Professional Qualification. 🌟 John passed all 16 exams first time, has qualified as a Chartered Global Management Accountant, and received a well-deserved promotion to Head of Finance.  What's next for John? But we need to congratulate him on raising £5,318 for CancerCare North Lancashire and South Cumbria! 👏 What is a Backyard Ultra?  🏃♂️ An ultramarathon race where competitors must consecutively run the distance of 4.167 miles in less than one hour. Taking on the Manchester Backyard Ultra, Peter:  🙌 Completed 24 x 4.167 mile loops 💯 Ran over 100 miles in total 🚀 Had his fastest mile at number 90 🔥 Burnt 18,000 calories 🧦 Went through 18 pairs of socks 🙅♂️ Said this is the 'last lap' eight times—kudos for powering through and reaching your goal!  #GiveSomethingBack is at the core of our organisational values, and it is incredible to see this consistently from our Managing Director.  Peter said, “I am absolutely flabbergasted by the support and want to especially give thanks to fellow professionals in the UK security industry, who were all really generous. Can the Tangerines bounce back? 🍊 Today our team will be #KeepingPeopleSafe at Bloomfield Road as Blackpool Football Club take on Barnsley. Our deployment is led by Emily Fisher, Armfield Stand Manager. She's back for a second season, after excelling in this role in the 23/24 season. Tom Marsh (MA), Operations Manager, commented: "Em is the perfect leader for the team at Blackpool. She is extremely diligent, week in and week out, and is always a pleasure to work with." ✨ FRONT-LINE FOCUS: Kyara ✨ Kyara joined #TeamFGH in 2023 as a steward before getting her SIA Door Supervision Licence. In this short time, she's become a core member of the welfare team at The Sugarhouse, offering incredible support to those who need it and ensuring that appropriate measures are taken to get vulnerable students home safely. Kyara has also been a key Operator in our National Control Centre and has worked deployments to festivals all over the UK this summer, from Kendal Calling to Boardmasters. She fully embodies our purpose of #KeepingPeopleSafe, and brand promise of #LookAfterOurTeam, and has received glowing feedback from external stakeholders stating how she is an asset to our organisation. 🙌 Kyara has just been named as a finalist at the Security & Fire Excellence Awards in the 'Security Officer of the Year' category, and we are also excited to share that she will soon be starting a new position as Recruitment Officer for the North!
