At Field Notes, we are dedicated to putting our participants at the heart of what we do. We believe that they should have the ultimate say in what they choose to share and retain control over their personal information. That's why, on the Field Notes app, participants can review the entries they have submitted and have the ability to request temporary hiding or permanent deletion of their content should they change their minds. Through this feature, we aim to provide a transparent and empowering experience for all our participants. 🌟🔒🚀 #FieldNotes #DataPrivacy #ContentControl

We are delighted to be partnering with Lily Rodel and Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford. Get in touch with Lily if you want to join the study as a participant!
🔊 Share your experiences as a parent with a hybrid work arrangement! I’m a PhD student at Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford researching the experience of working from home and hybrid work for parents living in the UK. I’m currently recruiting participants to an online diary study. The study is held via the Field Notes app, which can be downloaded to your phone. The study involves answering three prompts per day for three days (estimated completion time up to 5 minutes each). The prompts invite you to reflect on your schedule in the morning, during the day, and in the evening, and consider factors such as your technology use, who else was present, and your mood. You are welcome to use text, audio, photo, or video to answer the prompts. ⭐ Your entries will be analysed as part of my PhD thesis, but you will be anonymised and unidentifiable. My findings will shed light on the challenges and conditions faced by working parents in the post-pandemic world of work. If you have any questions or you’d like to get involved, please email me at: lily.rodel@balliol.ox.ac.uk. Thank you!

Our AI manifesto is something we are incredibly proud of. It's our North Star and really defines our approach to AI, from how we use AI internally to the functionalities we develop, from the tools we use to the companies we choose to partner with (hello CoLoop!). In a world where new AI tools pop up pretty much every day, we think it's as important as ever to remember to ask your tech partners a very simple question: What's your point of view? It will ensure that: A) your point of view and values align with those of your tech partners B) you don't end up just chasing the next shiny thing C) your AI strategy remains focused and effective

Gott in Himmel! Some might know this already, but I have been asked to co-chair the Worldwide QRCA conference together with the fabulous Pam Goldfarb Liss. I’m also working closely with the extraordinary Cher Chislett and the tremendous QRCA board. It’s been an eye opener seeing at first-hand what it takes to set up and run a conference… and I can’t wait for the payoff when we take over Berlin for three days! Specifically, the QRCA Worldwide conference is happening on May 14th-16th 2025. And the call for papers is now open. We’re working with a theme based around creativity in qual, so tell us about how you have done things differently, and why it worked/ didn’t work. Please get creative with those entries! Here’s a link for more info: https://lnkd.in/ec72YF72 You have until November 15th to apply. Viel Glück!

💡 Thinking about giving Field Notes a try? ⏳ Worried that learning a new tool will eat up too much of your time? 🕒 Wondering how long it'll take to onboard your whole team? 🙌 Don’t worry, we got you! Our Let's Go! migration programme has been developed to better support new customers who are switching (or planning to switch) to Field Notes from a different platform. We appreciate different platforms have a different take on what mobile self-ethnography is and that usually translates into different task typologies, settings as well as different ways of writing and programming activities. With Let's Go! we offer plenty of support (free of charge) to make the switch to Field Notes easy and smooth; we ensure that new customers have all the tools they need to write Field Notes into proposals, to leverage its capabilities to win more work and to successfully plan and manage their projects. Get in touch to find out more!

It's a good news Monday... I’m delighted to announce that Peek Content has been nominated for the Market Research Society (MRS) Cultural Insight Award for our work as part of the Pop Pulse research team that has been delving into the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on attitudes and behaviours. We've been connecting via their smartphones using Field Notes to dig into real-life experiences in a unique way (more to come about our approach...) As ever, collaboration is in our DNA, and the experience of working together with Steven Lacey at the The Outsiders, Josh Bullmore, Tom Sussman and Mike Treharne at Leo Burnett and Ella Fryer-Smith at Do you Research makes it even sweeter! Can’t wait to dust off the tux again and start December with a bang.
