A few days ago we announced the opening of our Finance Graduate Program for 2025!      So this feels like the perfect time to catch up with some of last years cohort on their experiences so far.    Abbie joined our Finance Graduate scheme in September 2024 after studying a BSC in Accountancy & Spanish, where she was also part of the Judo, Snowsports, and Kayaking societies, she was also an Air Cadet with the Royal Air force.     What a journey!   Since then she has quickly established herself as a valuable member of the Finsbury Food Group finance team, honing her skills on the CIMA Finance Leadership course.     We caught up with Abbie to find out more about her Finsbury journey, how we’ve supported her growth, as well as advice to anyone considering joining our 2025 cohort! We launched our Finance Graduate Programme in 2017, and have recruited an intake each year since. The three-year programme offers rotations in areas across the business, such as Operations Finance, Supply Chain, Commercial Finance and Financial Control. International Women's Day Why we've been celebrating International Women’s Day Really simply, diversity and inclusion is central to our business to ensure our continued success. We want to recruit, retain and develop more female talent as study after study shows that the more diverse and gender-balanced an organisation, the better it performs. In our industry, women are often well represented at the grassroots, but as we go up the chain, there are still fewer women making it to the top. But things are changing and we can all play our part to change this. Role models are really important in encouraging girls and women to go into science, technology, engineering and maths focused careers (STEM) and into traditionally male dominated areas like manufacturing. So talking to our teams and families and encouraging them to think about the whole range of careers out there is something we can all do and makes a huge difference. Today we've been celebrating women across our business on our internal social platforms, sharing stories and we've had the opportunity to host a truly insightful live Q&A session between Marnie Jane Millard OBE and Jo Gillard about becoming a leader in the Food Industry.
