At the beginning of this year, the Canadian Intellectual Property Office launched a new pilot project targeting non-use cancellations of trade marks. If you’re a UK business operating in Canada, these changes could put your trade marks at risk and may require immediate action. Catherine Bergeron (Robic) and Ben Travers (Foot Anstey) break down the changes and outline the steps UK businesses need take to protect their trade mark rights. • This week, many of our colleagues joined our Islamic Connections group by fasting for a day during Ramadan. The experience provided colleagues with a unique opportunity to better understand and appreciate the experiences of Muslim colleagues during this important time. Our people gained a lot from taking part… ✨ We learnt valuable lessons in respect, patience, and self-reflection. 🤝 We gained a deeper awareness of the challenges of fasting and reflected on our own habits and privileges. 🌟 It fostered a sense of community and solidarity, with many of us feeling a renewed empathy for those observing Ramadan. ✨Colleagues shared newfound appreciation for self-control, mindfulness, and meaningful connections. 🤝 Some even mentioned the unexpected benefits, like engaging in more thoughtful interactions and taking breaks. 🌟 This day of fasting was more than just a physical challenge—it was a powerful reminder of the importance of respect, empathy and understanding in our diverse workplace. #Ramadan2025 #Empathy #Inclusion
