Foreign Secretary David Lammy was in Dublin today to reiterate the UK's commitment to resetting ties with Ireland and Europe. Alongside Minister for the Cabinet Office Nick Thomas-Symonds, the Foreign Secretary met Tánaiste Micheál Martin in Iveagh House to drive forward a modern foreign and development policy partnership. The Foreign Secretary also met Ireland's first female President Mary Robinson, who now serves as Adjunct Professor for Climate Justice at Trinity College Dublin. Two years ago, Russia breached the UN Charter by orchestrating another illegal "annexation" of Ukraine’s sovereign territory, just as it did in Crimea in 2014. The UK's position is clear: Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Crimea are Ukraine. #StandWithUkraine

My government was elected to change Britain. Delivering on our five missions cannot be separated from events beyond our shores - Britain is stronger when we work with others. My message to the United Nations today is this: we are returning the UK to responsible global leadership.
