This #MediaMonday, we highlight the significance of MTTF (Mean Time to Failure) and MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) in Data Centre and Critical Systems management. In this video, we explain how Foreman Roberts uses advanced system software to perform complex fault tree analyses and peer reviews. These analyses identify both system and component failures, as well as repair times, ensuring accurate calculations for MTTF and MTTR across any upstream or downstream distribution network. This approach enhances system reliability and helps prevent costly downtimes. This #WednesdayWisdom we welcome big news for the UK data centre sector! The UK has classified data centres as 'Critical National Infrastructure', providing additional government support during major incidents such as cyber attacks or extreme weather. This move reflects the growing importance of data centres, which power essential services such as AI and data processing, despite concerns over their high energy and water consumption. The Labour government supports the sector, with technology secretary Peter Kyle calling them "the engines of modern life." While no new regulations or scrutiny of contingency plans will be introduced, a team will monitor potential threats. The demand for data centres is expected to rise due to growing AI-based services, with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google investing heavily in UK infrastructure. However, environmental concerns and local opposition remain obstacles to their expansion. At Foreman Roberts, we welcome this news as it opens up exciting opportunities for growth and innovation. With decades of experience working across the data centre and critical infrastructure sector, we are perfectly positioned to support the development of these facilities, ensuring they are designed to be both energy-efficient and resilient. Check out our latest thought leadership on data centre innovation here: https://lnkd.in/eJehDUhi #DataCentres #Innovation #WednesdayWisdom

Happy #FootprintFriday! Exciting times continue for sustainable tech in the data centre industry! ECL (a data centre solution company in the US) has unveiled details of the world’s first hydrogen-powered data centre, located in Mountain View, CA. This game-changing facility draws zero power from the grid, generates water, and boasts an impressive PUE of 1.1. This facility is the prototype for what the company hopes will be a series of sustainable, modular, built-to-suit data centres designed from the ground up to support the high-density GPU deployments of up to 75 kW per rack. With AI's exponential growth, data centres are searching for alternative energy sources, and ECL believes hydrogen is the answer. Their modular design supports high-density GPU deployments and promises faster build times—launching new centres in under 12 months! Could hydrogen be the future of data centres?... Time will tell, but we are certainly excited by the prospect! #SustainableTech #HydrogenEnergy #DataCenters #AIRevolution #TechInnovation #GreenEnergy
