We were pleased to contribute to the recent panel discussion alongside McConnell Group, Procurement for Housing and Gerda Security Products, where industry experts tackled procurement challenges and shared solutions. Our discussion explored key topics, from early engagement and compliance to balancing cost and safety. #FireSafety #Procurement #BuildingSafety
This year, a frequent conversation we’ve been having with clients and industry peers is how fire safety works can be procured efficiently and cost-effectively. With this at the forefront of our minds, we held a panel session to discuss and solve the critical challenges our clients are facing. We’ve pulled together an insights piece that summaries the key takeaways and advice that came from our discussion, which you can read here: https://lnkd.in/ej8xgrV8 If you want to discuss any of these challenges in more detail, or if you have a challenge we could help with, please feel free to DM me or email communications@mcconnell.co.uk

Frankham Projects have been appointed by Gravesham Borough Council to provide a fully managed solution including Development Management, Architecture and Planning Consultancy for the redevelopment of various garage sites across Gravesham. A long term development strategy has been put in place following an extensive review of a poorly performing garage portfolio. The sites highlighted as having development potential are now supported by positive pre-application advice and the team will be working towards securing planning consents. This will generate over 60 units for much needed affordable housing across Gravesham. #planning

The government has announced a series of reforms to the planning system, promising to reduce bureaucracy and speed up development. These changes, which include updates to delegated decision-making and the role of statutory consultees, form part of a broader drive to accelerate housebuilding and economic growth. If you would like to discuss how these reforms might impact your projects and whether they could be leveraged to speed up approvals, please get in touch with Oliver Morse. A personal focus for Frankham Risk Management Services is to extend our services beyond the South. This is now becoming a reality for both the Frankham Risk Management Services and Frankham Group team who recently visited Manchester City Centre for Riverside! The team carried out building safety surveys which included Type 4 fire risk assessments and structural surveys. A well-executed project relies on careful planning and excellent communication. For more complex projects, we believe a Resident Liaison Officer (RLO) is essential to project execution from the early phase of a project, ensuring residents are kept to up to date and are comfortable with the works that are being carried out. By working closely with residents we’re building rapport and trust to improve project outcomes and achieving 100% access. Thank you to all that were involved in this project for your hard work and dedication!
