New partnership to boost UK-Turkey Trade Links and support Eco-Friendly Construction in the East of England! 🏗️🌱 Freeport East have this week signed a new collaboration partnership with Assan Panel, the leading Turkish manufacturer of high-performance insulation and building materials. Building on their £45 million investment in a new manufacturing facility at Gateway 14, Stowmarket, the partnership will support #AssanPanel to share their market-leading technologies in the UK, strengthen trade relations between the UK and Turkey and support local skills development. 🏢 🤝🌍 The agreement was signed at the Futurebuild event in London in the presence of the Department for Business and Trade where Managing Director Ihsan Tolga Akar was speaking about their experience of investing in the UK through #UKFreeports. Assan Panel’s sustainable building materials, including SmartCore and BioCore technologies, provide important new innovations in the eco-building sector in the UK. As part of #nationalapprenticeshipweek many of our local business and education partners are involved in a range of apprenticeship schemes in priority growth sectors such as #logistics, #greenenergy, #maritime and #manufacturing. There are a range of exciting #opportunities currently being made available across the Freeport East area.   One such example of is at the Port of Felixstowe / Port of Britain. The shipping sector is expected to grow by 30-70 percent by 2050 and the port are currently looking for aspiring engineers to join their Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme in conjunction with Colchester Institute. ➡️ Freeport East kicks off 2025 with focus on #connectivity and #growth at Port of Felixstowe / Port of Britain.   Plans to capitalise on #growth and #investment #opportunities around the Port of Felixstowe were a feature of the first Freeport East Board meeting of 2025, held last week in #Ipswich. With £250m of inward investment attracted to Freeport East in the first two years of operation it has highlighted the unique attraction for major manufacturers and trade-based businesses offered by the combination of the Port of Felixstowe’s global connections and strategic road and rail links to the rest of the UK. ⚓ As the UK’s biggest container port in 2024, the Port of Felixstowe attracts the world’s largest cargo vessels and over 35 trains a day leave the port for destinations throughout the UK. Capitalising on these unique strengths will be a focus for Freeport East in 2025 with a number of new developments planned.
