💡 “Our vision is a railway where everyone has a real chance to reach their potential - no matter their socio-economic background." 🚉 These words from Andrew Haines at last week’s launch of the 'Industry Social Mobility Network' set the tone for an important discussion on creating equal career opportunities in the rail industry. The event brought together rail leaders, Derby City Council, Youth Futures Foundation and students from Derby College to discuss key issues including: 💬 The impact of poverty 💬 Access to opportunities 💬 The need to highlight the wide range of careers in rail beyond train driving 💬 The importance of seeing representatives of your community in senior roles 👫🏽 A big thank you to Rail Unites for Inclusion for organising this inspiring event as part of their Black History Month programme.
