A week of leadership, growth and community in Mumbai Last week, GCX's Senior Management Team (SMT) gathered together in Mumbai, combining strategic discussions with impactful engagements. With a significant portion of our workforce based in India, it was a great opportunity to connect with the teams that drive the success across GCX including Sales, HR, Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance and Managed Services. The SMT leadership sessions laid the groundwork for our organisation's future. These focused discussions addressed key challenges and opportunities, charting a course for long-term success and innovation. As part of GCX's focus on prioritising people development, a defining moment came when the next generation of leaders (Executive Leadership Team), played a key role in a session with the SMT. They shared meaningful insights on how they would like to see the company's core values embedded into the culture and outlined clear expectations for the future. A highlight of the trip was the session with our skilled graduate trainees, who eagerly engaged with senior leaders to gain valuable insights and learn from their experiences, reinforcing their passion for professional growth. The week wrapped up with the SMT's involvement in #CSR initiatives by visiting a local school and planting trees in the compound, reinforcing our commitment to giving back to the community and fostering a sustainable future. Highlights from Last Week: Submarine Networks World 2024 and The Future of Undersea Cables in the Indo-Pacific. Last week, a team from GCX attended Submarine Networks World in Singapore, where future investments and key initiatives were explored. Our team showcased advancements in the Middle East and European Mesh, along with our International Long Distance (ILD) Licence in India, demonstrating our commitment to driving innovation in global network infrastructure. A highlight of the event was Nadya Melic, VP Product & Marketing, who captivated attendees with her presentation on "Supplier Diversity for the Good of the Network." She emphasised the critical role that supplier diversity plays in fostering resilience and innovation within the subsea ecosystem. To wrap up the week of showcasing initiatives and forging connections, Alexandra Campbell, Product Marketing Manager, and Nadya attended a workshop on "The Future of Undersea Cables in the Indo-Pacific" hosted by the Australian National University Tech Policy Design Centre and the Tech For Good Institute. Participants from South-East Asia explored strategies to meet future connectivity needs, aiming to guide governments and industry in enhancing the resilience and capacity of the Indo-Pacific cables network.
