About us
Gene People is a charity here to support anyone with a genetic condition and their loved ones, and the patient organisations and support groups that work with them. Our free Genetic Counsellor-led Helpline is available Mon-Fri on 0800 987 8985 for those affected by genetic conditions, their wider family and carers. Our Partnership Network is for any group that supports specific conditions or the sector. Details of how to join are available on our website. There are approximately 8,000 genetic conditions, some affecting large numbers of people and others just a few globally. We are here for all of them. We are Gene People.

If you’re near Brighton on the 1st September, then please support Ring 20 in raising awareness of r(20) syndrome/rare epilepsy at their stand at Brighton Racecourse during their annual Family Fun Day. With information in the racecard and media/TV coverage on the day, they are hoping to make a huge difference to general knowledge, stigma and misconceptions about difficult to treat epilepsies and why individuals and their families deserve better support, treatment and care, plus a chance to meet with other r(20) families, so please do support if you can!
