About us
Ginsters is the Number 1 Savoury Pastry Brand in the U.K.. Ginsters was founded by Cornish dairy farmer Geoffrey Ginster with his two sons Gerald and Barry. In August 1967, with a staff of four, Geoffrey Ginster started production of a first-class pasty from a 'secret recipe' obtained from a ship's cook. In the first full day of production, 24 pasties were made. The Samworth Brothers acquired the business in 1977 and set about growing and developing Ginsters into the national brand we see in the shops today. From humble beginnings, the company now produces around 3 million products a week from its' state-of-the art Bakery in the Cornish town of Callington and employs over 500 people. The company produces a range of 'food to go' products including it's flagship Original Cornish Pasty which was recently voted "The Nation's Favourite".

You heard us right 😉 We take pride in all our products having 100% locally sourced British veg, where possible, and truly believe it’s got star quality - so much so we’re putting them centre stage on the West End for the first time ever! Together with Merryn, the most dedicated farmer around, we’re teaming up with the London Vegetable Orchestra to play instruments made from the vegetables that go into our famous Cornish Pasty. With over 3M+ video views and reaching more than 2M+ social media users in just under a month, it’s safe to say our influencer partnership with Made in Chelsea’s Temps and our very own Senior Development Chef Will Gamble has gone down a treat! Over the last four months our Social Media Manager Alex Kortland has been beavering away with our lead PR & Social Agency Splendid Communications to create a highly engaging social series to bring to life the effort that goes into every single great tasting product we produce with a new fanbase; foodie Temps was the perfect partner, with a following of more than 725k, to go head-to-head with our team deftly taking on Cornish themed questions against the clock and tackling a (surprisingly successful) pasty crimp off. This series was all about injecting our brand personality into content which heroes our taste and quality messaging. Aside from impressive metrics across Meta and TikTok platforms, we’ve proven the impact considered influencer campaigns can deliver in an increasingly rife creator environment - where personality, authenticity and storytelling yield power. The range is lovingly developed by our team of in-house chefs at our bakery in Callington (The Cornwall Bakery) with quality ingredients, designed to provide a fulfilling and satisfying lunch at home. Graham Cornish, our Brand Development Manager, has worked at Ginsters for over 40 years – and played a crucial part in perfecting our best-selling Cornish Pasty recipe.
