I've talked a lot this month about brands not showing up for the LGBTQ+ community during Pride month 2024. With that in mind, I want to give a shout out to Glasses Direct and Cherry Pick Talent Ltd. for their great campaign supporting Galop that I was lucky enough to work on as a creator this week. Glasses Direct have consistently shown up with their Pride campaigns (this is my second year with them, but I have seen them working with LGBTQ+ creators for many years now). Their campaign contains two essential elements for any Pride work; a clear financial donation to an LGBTQ+ charity and the raising of awareness around important issues (in this case violence and abuse experiences by LGBTQ+ people, exclusively supported by the amazing work done by Galop). Not only that, they also consistently work with smaller creators who have community audiences, adequately compensate their partners and allow them creative freedom to speak to their audiences authentically. So, here's the reel I made with them quoting some of the things I hear every single June, and my absolute best side eye.
