Our Temperature Check report found that nearly 60% of students gained work experience during university. However, many students and graduates worry that if their experience doesn’t directly align with the industry they’re aiming for, it could affect their career prospects. Each year, we survey students and graduates across the UK to gauge their career confidence, understand what draws them to employers, and identify what they seek in their future careers. Our annual insights allow us to track significant changes and impacts within each year's cohort, providing valuable recommendations for employers. Amid rising living costs and a tough job market, we’ve noticed a decline in graduates' confidence about securing their dream jobs and entering the workforce. This year, graduates also expressed concerns about their skills, particularly the limited opportunities to apply theory in practice.
