This feels like another big, important step in the right direction. New NHS webpages, for health and care professionals in England, highlight the benefits and evidence base for embedding physical activity across systems and communities. Proud of colleagues throughout Greater Manchester Moving (Hayley Lever and others) for their contributions in shaping these pages. The ‘four ways forward’ support the delivery of the Government’s ambitions, with links to tools and resources which support and empower staff to take action and to advocate for increasing physical activity, with case studies that showcase innovative collaborations between local systems and partners (e.g. GM Active CIC's Prehab4Cancer which is mentioned specifically). Calling all Greater Manchester Organisations / community groups. We are working with Greater Manchester Moving to launch our volunteer Campaign to 'You dont have to be a player to play a part'. We are looking to work with organisations / community groups across Greater Manchester, who have a keen interest in developing boccia in their community. Boccia can be added to existing sessions, or ran as a standalone session. Boccia England are providing FREE training to those who wish to train up as leaders. The training courses will take place on the following dates: Tuesday 3rd June 10am-1pm at Seashells, Stanley Road, Cheadle Hulme, SK8 6RQ Sunday 8th June 9am-12pm at Bolton Arena, Horwich, BL6 6LB. The training will be a 3 hour face-to-face sessions and will focus on the basics of boccia, how to lead a session and how to officiate a game.
