Optimising a ship’s port call process and enabling ships to arrive Just-In Time (JIT), can lead to substantial reduction in carbon emissions and fuel costs, as well as enhanced safety and operations. This week, our Technical Analyst Minglee Hoe joined over 100 representatives from various JIT arrival initiatives. The event, held in Rotterdam, identified concrete actions to address existing challenges to JIT arrivals, with different JIT initiatives agreeing to take the lead on each follow-up action. Minglee shared insights from our Global Industry Alliance to Support Low Carbon Shipping JIT Arrival Guide (https://lnkd.in/eszxTgMx) and Portal (https://lnkd.in/eXJ3MVn4), and on the support that the Alliance is offering to ports from developing countries towards enabling JIT implementation. The event was a great waypoint, aligning our collective efforts and ensuring we are all moving in a common direction.
