Interesting read in today’s edition of The Times, an insightful article explores the views of Jonathan Holt, the current CEO of KPMG, on generative AI (#genAI) and the growing push for a mandatory return to office-based work. As more companies adopt this approach, the ongoing debate around hybrid versus office working models has resurfaced. Holt noted that "an increasing number of UK chief executives believe pre-pandemic ways of working will return, despite government support for flexible practices." I think it will be interesting to observe how this perspective evolves, particularly as larger corporations, such as Amazon, have already begun implementing similar policies. https://lnkd.in/ezJyxFUc

A glance back at our 50,000 sq ft, CAT A & B beautiful new build fragrance house for experts in private label fragrances, Laurelle London Limited. With a growing demand for their products and a desire to create a space that was fit for their high-profile clients, Laurelle took the decision to move to a new build facility in Canvey Island. With a very specific set of needs and an interest in Habit Action’s Aromabooth product and brand, Laurelle reached out to learn more about how our unique testing booths could work for them, Laurelle found themselves on a journey of discovery with Habit Action. Given that this project involved building their office, production, and warehouse facility from scratch, added to the complexities of this project. However, this also opened a window of opportunity to create something truly beautiful for the company as well as increase Laurelle’s ability to expand its production and creation capabilities. One of the aims we clearly identified at the beginning of this project was that this new space was about elevating the brand and making it a space they are proud to bring their clients to. As businesses across the UK and EMEA region grapple with the post-pandemic reality, a new challenge is on the horizon: the Energy Performance Certificate Band B (EPCPB) regulation set to come into force in 2030. This mandate will require commercial properties to meet high energy efficiency standards, forcing companies and landlords alike to reconsider their office spaces. Coupled with the growing trend of hybrid work and fluctuating real estate dynamics, the question of whether to upsize, downsize, or stay put has never been more complex. Paris, often dubbed the “City of Light”, is renowned for its historic architecture, elegant boulevards, and vibrant real estate market. Over the past few years, the Parisian real estate landscape has been evolving, influenced by global funding trends, design and build innovations, and shifting landlord-tenant dynamics. This article delves into these aspects, offering insights into how they shape the Parisian property market today. Sustainability is no longer just a buzzword in Parisian real estate; it’s a necessity. With the French government imposing stricter environmental regulations, the design and build sector is increasingly focused on green building practices. New developments are prioritising energy efficiency, the use of sustainable materials, and the reduction of carbon footprints. However, global economic uncertainties, such as fluctuating exchange rates and geopolitical tensions, have also made some investors cautions. This has led to a diversification of investment strategies, with many opting for real estate funds and REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts) that offer exposure to Parisian properties without the complexities of direct ownership. Paris is not just a city to live in – it’s a city to invest in, to design and build in, and to be a part of a community that continually shapes the global real estate narrative.
