We're all settled in, setup and running… Some great things coming over the next few months – some nice projects underway and some potential projects in the pipelines (fingers crossed for these beauties). Some letterpress workshops and calligraphy this month followed by some halloween fun, then the London Illustration show (super excited about this one, we've been visiting since it started, so we're really pleased to be part of it). Then into December with hopefully more workshops and we will have a Christmas opening with music mulled wine and a load of festiveness! If you would like to craft a campaign, brand or just a bit of type we'd love to chat.

Was a great weekend. Looking forward to opening again on Thursday.

The letterpress print we printed at our opening on Saturday. The print is all letterpress printed. One pass of yellow letterpress circles. Laser cut out of acrylic then mounted type high for printing. The second colour of red is all movable type and the hand-inc logo. The type border is made of 24pt Caslon italic and Roman with 12pt Caslon old style. The word 'There' is a 28 Pica Grot wood type set with a 12 Pica hand-inc 'hi'. The 'hi' characters are from a type face we've designed called Inktrap that we've had made into movable type. The wood type is created using similar practices to how type would have been traditionally produced, cut into type high endgrain Maple. Our logo is laser cut into type high endgrain Maple

We're OPEN. It was a lovely weekend and fantastic to be open. Thank you for everyone that made it. It was really nice to catch up and print with people and great to meet new faces too. We look forward to sharing more soon – more illustration, more lettering, more letterpress and more workshops. We really do thank everyone for there support. It really does mean a lot. A few making of snaps of our opening invite. The invites were printed on G . F Smith Citrine Colourplan, with 48pt Cooper to the front and a 14pt and 12pt Cooper to the reverse. All movable type from our collection. The 'hi' roundel and hand-inc logo was laser cut. The typeface is called Inkwell (for its exaggerated inkwells), we designed this at hand-inc and it is in the process of becoming a traditional letterpress wood type font as well as a digital face. The envelopes are a mix of Citrine and grey colour plan finished with a 'hi' foil. We are now opening on Saturday 28th September, from 10am Hand-inc, Coventry Road, Dunchurch Thanks Steve & Amy 😀
