I think "Inclusivity" has got a bad rap! Don't you think it's easy to slip into the thinking that inclusion is about making space for people with "disabilities"? CIPD terms inclusion this way: "It’s about creating working environments and cultures where every individual can feel safe, experience a sense of belonging, and is empowered to achieve their full potential." It's clear that perhaps our view of inclusion needs to be broadened. Tourette’s, a neurological disorder which can be hugely disruptive to a person’s life, was unfortunately, the reason that Luke was unable to do his talk for WorkStory. 🔥🏕️ “Campfire Culture” - the story you are seeking to change the world… There is nothing more convincing than a person who genuinely believes in the story they are telling. At our Tuesday networking event we had the privilege of hearing from the fantastic Rachel Savage from Brand New Story, to share her story and experiences with brand storytelling! Whether you were starting a brand from scratch, or looking to refine an existing one, there was plenty to learn and take away from the session - from speaker and attendees alike. We saw some incredible collaboration and connection at Cotswold Lakes Brew Co. | B Corp. A highlight for me and eye opening view came from breaking down the classic ‘hero’s journey’ that we see in books and films, and assessing how this can be applied in a professional context with its customer at the forefront 🦸 Thank you to Rachel and all of our attendees who came with an open mind, readiness to open conversations and look at their own brand story through a new perspective, and with a willingness to learn.
