Planning for our next summer school (2026) is well underway, and we're hoping to announce some very exciting news about it shortly. We're looking to bring costs down as much as possible and we are looking for SPONSORS who might be interested in attending our event and advertising their organisation at the same time. We have a limited number of sponsorships - but they also entitle your organisation to a reduced delegate fee, perfect for those looking to sponsor us and benefit from some world class staff development training in XPS practice. Our previous event was attended by an amazing class of delegates from across academia and industry, students and lab managers alike - and we were supported by our amazing sponsors Thermo Fisher Scientific, Blue Scientific Ltd., SPECS Surface Nano Analysis GmbH, Kratos Analytical Ltd, Physical Electronics, Wolfgang Betz BIOWEIN, and Royal Society of Chemistry. Get in touch with us at enquiries@harwellxps.uk to find out more, and grab one of these sponsorships before they are gone!

Excellent recognition from the work of our technical manager David Morgan and the efforts of all of at HarwellXPS
Surface Analysis Manager at Cardiff University & Technical Manager at HarwellXPS. Consultant for Cardiff Analytical
Always rewarding to know the time and effort put in to publications is valued. A thank you to all who have found my papers useful and to Wiley Analytical Science for this recognition. Two of the papers are from the excellent "XPS Insight" series which came from the efforts of Don Baer and John F Watts FREng, the editor of Surface and Interface Analysis, and I am thankful to them for the series of papers.

NEW WEBSITE ALERT - www.harwellxps.uk Our dedicated web team (aka Mark Isaacs) has been working tirelessly to update our website for the EPSRC National Facility for Photoelectron Spectroscopy, offering a sleeker and more streamlined experience for users wanting to submit applications to us, or register to attend our events and workshops. Notable changes: User registration greatly simplified, now you can log in using an authentication code sent direct to your email account. You are free to set up a log in using a password also, but those wanting extra security may wish to opt for the email authentication method. Event guest registration requires minimal information to get started and register for upcoming events and activities. Sample information (for Harwell Centre and Diamond Light Source applications) permits batch sample addition, so if you need to add multiple samples of the same type, it is now as simple as giving us all the information in one quick simple form - and we can use this information in Diamond Light Source ERA submissions, and to satisfy local safety rules. Website UI and navigation updated, making it easier to find the content you need! There will be more updates to come, but we really wanted to share this with you all now that it has been released! Big thanks to Research Complex at Harwell for their support, and for providing the high quality images for our website.
