❔Do you know the most common symptoms of blood cancer❔ Despite being the 5th most common cancer in the UK, many people aren’t aware of the most common signs and symptoms to look out for. To mark the end of this year’s #BloodCancerAwarenessMonth, we’re sharing some of the most common symptoms of leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. It’s important to remember that there are other symptoms of blood cancer, and some of these symptoms can be caused by other less serious health conditions. But catching cancer early can make it easier to treat. So, if you are experiencing any of these symptoms, or have any other new or persistent changes to your health see your GP without delay. 🎥Watch Now: Knowing the Signs and Symptoms of Ovarian Cancer with Dr. Ahmad Sayasneh🎥 Everyday in the UK, 21 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Two thirds of these women, an estimated 5,000, are diagnosed late, when their cancer is harder to treat. Late diagnosis is largely due to both a low awareness of ovarian cancer symptoms and that these symptoms are often vague. To mark the end of #Gynaecological CancerAwarenessMonth, we asked Dr. Ahmad Sayasneh, Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Oncology Surgeon at HCA Healthcare UK, to tell us about the common signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer to look out for. The message is clear; if you have any new, unusual, or persistent symptoms, then these need to be investigated without delay. It may not be anything to worry about, but finding ovarian cancer earlier makes it easier to treat. #HCAhealthcareUK #HCAhealthcare #ovariancancer #ovariancancerawareness

Today we’ve joined people across the UK to host Macmillan coffee mornings across our network. We popped in to see the team at our flagship patient information centre The Harley Street Clinic. The dedicated centre is a partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, where our team work together to talk, listen and provide information and support to patients and their loved ones, helping them to navigate the practical, physical and emotional impact of cancer. Macmillan volunteer, Carol MacDonald; "I've been a Macmillan volunteer for 22 years. We listen to patients and help guide them. We fill in the gaps and help give them the confidence they need to navigate a challenging chapter in their lives. It’s an incredible honour and a big responsibility." Patient, Susan; "I started my treatments about 10 months ago. I’ve had reflexology treatments at the centre, which I find so relaxing – they really brighten my day. I also feel very supported by the Macmillan volunteers; they’re so easy to talk to, it’s like chatting with a friend, I feel like I can confide in them.” We’re incredibly proud to partner with Macmillan and to participate in this national coffee morning, helping to raise funds for the vital support they provide to people living with cancer. A huge thank you to our team for their continued dedication and to all our bakers for their delicious cakes. #MacmillanCoffeeMorning #HCAHealthcareUK #HCAUK #CancerSupport

“I think my story highlights a common problem. It’s often when you’re caring for somebody else that you don’t take notice of yourself." - Justine This gynaecological cancer awareness month we're sharing Justine's story. We first spoke with Justine last year when she shared her experience of being diagnosed with a rare and advanced type of ovarian cancer. Having been diagnosed with endometriosis in her 20’s, Justine was aware that her risk of ovarian cancer was slightly increased, and considered herself to be well-informed about the signs and symptoms. She was also having regular gynaecological scans to monitor for any changes. But when her late mother's health declined, Justine became busy balancing her mother's care with her own career. She found herself delaying a scan. It was also during this time that Justine began to experience subtle symptoms of what would later be diagnosed as incurable but treatable ovarian cancer. Since we last spoke to Justine, she has continued her treatment with Professor Gordon Jayson at HCA Healthcare UK The Christie Private Care, and is currently receiving radiotherapy. A huge thank you to Justine for being so open about her experience and reminding us of the importance of prioritising our health, and seeking help when experiencing symptoms, even if they are vague. 💕Huge congratulations to Faye, Stevie and family! Thank you for trusting us with your care
We were absolutely delighted to see this beautiful video from Faye and Stevie, who revealed to their son that they are expecting a baby girl in early winter after undergoing fertility treatment at Lister Fertility Clinic. Mr Timothy Bracewell-Milnes, Consultant Gynaecologist at Lister Fertility Clinic, said: “As a clinic, all of our staff were hugely inspired by this couple, and it was an absolute pleasure to treat them. We made every effort to adapt all aspects of the care we provided for their needs, and am absolutely delighted we achieved a positive outcome. We cannot wait to meet their little girl!” A huge congratulations to Faye and Stevie! Shared with kind permission from Faye P.
