A great and energising morning speaking at the HE Professional conference on 'AI and Academic Integrity What Next' chaired by Professor Kathy Armour from UCL. I was speaking as part of a panel exploring some of the #BigQuestions on Gen AI, Academic Integirty and new approaches to impactful assessment alongside some brilliant colleagues who shared their insights and approaches. Its clear that we are in a paradigm shift in how we think and do assessment and this is not an 'agentic AI problem' but a 'learning effectiveness problem'. We have to be thinking critically about how we support and upskill our educators and students in how they use AI responsibly and authentically. #GenAI #Assessment #AcademicIntegrity #highereducation #universities #heprofessional

Really interesting conference by HE Professional about the use of AI and Academic Integrity. Particularly insightful talks by Danny Liu and Jiahui (Jess) Luo about positive & pragmatic examples of integration in Academic Practice, plus the research on use of AI by students, and staff perceptions on use of AI in student work. My take home summary: The emergence of AI is a transformative moment in HE. Embracing, educating, and guiding on its use is going to be fundamental to ensuring students know how and when to use it appropriately.

As a practitioner and researcher within this field and wider emerging technologies, the need for literacies must be core to our understanding and use of technology.
