We support men and women who have been physically or psychologically wounded while serving in the British Armed Forces.

About us

At Help for Heroes, we believe those who serve our country deserve support when they’re wounded. Every day, men and women have to leave their career in the Armed Forces as a result of physical or psychological wounds; their lives changed forever. We help them, and those still serving, to recover and get on with their lives. We give them physical, psychological, financial and welfare support for as long as they need it. We also support their families, because they too can be affected by their loved one’s wounds. We receive almost no funding from the Government, which means we rely on the spirit and generosity of the great British public, our partners and volunteers to keep going. Rest assured, we continue to put pressure on the Government to do more. So far, with your help, more than 25,000 people have been supported, but we know that many more still need us. We won’t stop until every wounded veteran gets the support they deserve. We’re so proud of our partnership with Ambassador Cruise Line who recently took part in our Heroes Hike challenge, walking 28km across Dartmoor! The team got to meet some of the veterans we support and hear first-hand their heroic and inspiring stories, bringing them ever closer to our cause. Gordon Nardini, Chief Marketing Officer at Ambassador Cruise Line said “We had an amazing time on the Hike. Not only did we get to meet some new Ambassadors at Help for Heroes and hear firsthand about the great work the charity does supporting veterans, we also managed to raise over £3K for the charity. The walk was a tough but fair challenge and as a team we had a lot of laughs and fun along the way. It was a great team building event and we definitely all came back knowing each other a little better and very proud of our achievements supporting Help for Heroes”. If you’d like to enter your team to take on a team building challenge, meet some inspirational speakers out on the hills, and partner with a charity that provides the best of the best fundraising challenges, then contact corporate@helpforheroes.org.uk or find your challenge here: https://brnw.ch/21wNyGf Who’s joining us next year? Every day, five people leave the Armed Forces due to illness or injury, facing an uncertain future. We have a moral responsibility to ensure every veteran lives well after service. Today, at the Labour Party Conference, we're proud to be part of the Priorities for Veterans panel, chaired by James Needham, Chief Executive of Help for Heroes. Key voices like Al Carns MP, Cllr Andy Newman, Angela Kitching, and Carol Betteridge OBE will join us to discuss how we can improve care and end the injustices veterans face. Together, we'll reflect on the first 80 days of the new Labour Government and what lies ahead for veterans’ support.
