Millennials are powering the non-alc industry 📈🍻 And the number of millennial NA drinkers is on the rise! Last year, research by the IWSR found that 45% of non-alc drinkers were millennials (aged 28-43). Their latest study shows this number jump to 61% this year. Recently we shared data on how Gen Z are shunning traditional non-alc variations for alternatives that don’t mimic the taste of alcohol. But for most millennials who grew up with it, taste buds are different. From more non-alc alternatives available in bars, to a rise in ‘dry months’ like Dry January and Stoptober, having choice and control over alcohol consumption is key to this movement. So is having great tasting NA options like: Mash Gang IMPOSSIBREW® Athletic Brewing Co. NORTHERN MONK - Holy Faith And a local Cornish brand you might not have heard of, Firebrand Brewing Co (their Shorebreak hazy pale is off the scale good!) Joe Thomson Are you a millennial who’s moved to the Dry side? We’d love to hear your reasons ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/eDZs2_j3 #nonalcoholindustry #nonalc #alcohol #alcoholindustry #highanddry #vice

𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 ? Summer's end signals the natural shift we all feel—the "one last holiday" before the diet starts, or "one last drink" before cutting back. Sound familiar? That’s the mindset I had for years, always chasing the next temporary fix to postpone the inevitable. But this year was different. I’ve just returned from Ibiza, and after 33 months sober, it was my final test of will. And guess what? We passed. No white-knuckling, no willpower gymnastics—just a genuine shift in mindset that has made living alcohol-free not only possible but natural. The key? Addressing the root cause of the habit. It’s not just about avoiding booze; it’s about changing your relationship with it altogether. This summer’s end doesn’t have to be another missed opportunity. It can be the start of something real, something lasting. Are you ready to make this your final “last party” before the big change? Imagine a life where alcohol isn’t the crutch you rely on but rather a non-issue altogether. Imagine a life where you do everything you used to do, but those experiences are x 10 better ? I’ve been there, and I’m here to help others find their way too. If you’re: ☑ Tired of temporary fixes ☑ Ready to dive deeper than surface-level motivation ☑ Fed up with past attempts that didn’t stick ☑ Open to a new perspective on sobriety ☑ Willing to invest in a sustainable lifestyle change ☑ Looking for personalised support Then let’s make the end of summer the start of something better. I am here for that.

Gen Z in the UK are drinking less alcohol. So if you’ve never trained yourself to like alcohol, why make non-alcohol alternatives that replicate the taste of it? It was previously thought that Gen Z were reducing their alcohol intake and that younger consumers were choosing to ready-to-drink cocktails and hard seltzers, over wine and beer. However, new OPUS data shows that 30% of Gen Z are drinking less, and 13% of them are not drinking at all. Taking what we know: > Many are not used to drinking in the first place > Their tastes are shifting from traditional alcohol (wine and beer) > But 60% still go out to bars and restaurants weekly Our guess is that although Lucky Saint | B Corp™ and Guinness 0.0 are having their moment, there will be a peak and an inevitable decline. This will leave plenty of white space for brands that are not taste replicators, but are more mood, occasion, complexity and mouth-feel replicators. This is going to be a long game and the likes of: Seasn and Sylva (Pollen Projects), Mash Gang, Wednesday's Domaine, NON , MURI, Bolle Drinks, IMPOSSIBREW®, LOAH, Botivo Drinks | B corp, Wavelength Drinks, TRIP, SENTIA Spirits, Three Spirit Will be the ultimate winners… What do you think? https://lnkd.in/d7yuKH-E #alcoholindustry #genz #alcoholalternatives #highanddry

The Devonshire in Soho has just become the first pub in the UK to serve Guinness 0.0 on draught. This time last year, it was rolled out on tap for the first time in Ireland and made available in 1,000 Irish pubs due to popularity. 3 weeks ago, our Founder, Daniel Rowntree shared that Big Alcohol companies are in turmoil, with Diageo shares continuing to fall. With the success of Guinness 0.0 cans, and Diageo’s investment in the draught version, we think it could be the shining light the Big Alcohol industry has needed. Speaking of the draught roll out in the Republic of Ireland, Diageo Ireland Managing Director Barry O'Sullivan, said: “Guinness 0.0 has become Diageo’s biggest non-alcoholic brand… More and more Irish consumers are choosing to moderate their drinking but they don’t want to compromise on taste or quality. The increased availability of Guinness 0.0 on draught serves those consumers and supports a thriving and inclusive hospitality sector in Ireland.” With it now in The Devonshire in Soho London, and Peter Crouch there by chance to taste it, we’re sure it’ll continue to grow in the UK and beyond too. Global alcohol sales will be forever in decline. 📉 How do we know this? When asked if their alcohol consumption reduced if they consumed another mood-altering substance, 58% of people in the UK agreed. In the US, this increased to 70%. Other mood-altering and alcohol-free alternatives are on the rise, from adaptogen and CBD drinks, to kava which we mentioned last week. With so many options available in the US, that 70% is no surprise. What are British businesses doing to capitalise on this opportunity, or plan for this threat? If you're a business that needs help, send us a message. So whats the deal with kava and is it legal in the UK? There are now 150 kava bars in the USA. Florida is leading the way with approximately 60. You may have experienced this on your travels to the beautiful Polynesian islands including Fiji and Tonga where the locals use it in ceremony and also in replacement for alcohol to alter their mood. Currently in the US it's legal and bars are popping up all over the place. We are also seeing it appear as an adaptogen in drinks such as Leilo and Botanic Tonics. cc: Cameron Korehbandi Brenden Silverman 👏 However, it's not currently legal in the UK. Check the below to learn more about it!
