March 2024 marked a significant milestone for HOLD Self Storage with the grand opening of our first store on York Way, London, which we're dubbing H*LD V1. As we move into the quieter period for storage, we have a chance to 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 catch our ragged breath 🥵 and look back at our first peak season as a business. We're properly happy with some of the progress and milestones achieved; from welcoming our first customer on Day One to celebrating our 500th. Now, with just one year in the industry under his waist-32 belt, Will has already won an industry award, spoken at The Self Storage Association UK conference and supplied our pilot London store with over 3000 enquiries. Big W. The guy is an iconoclast 👊. He looks at stuff and sees the opportunities in them to be better or different, often perspiring heavily in the process. To date, Will has ripped up deep-rooted industry conventions and replaced them with a more creative, engaging way. All the while, proving his data-cum-creative approach works. Anyone involved in large-scale planning applications knows they are a true labour of love. 🚀 Exciting news from team HOLD Self Storage in a VERY wet Stockholm with what's potentially a global storage first... Ask anyone in self storage; size matters. One of the biggest, unsolved challenges for customers is determining the right sized unit for their stuff. Even being out by 5 square feet can lead to a customer overpaying £££s in a few years. So we went to work to try and solve this. We've collaborated with tech innovators LEVAR from the US, developing a groundbreaking Augmented Reality storage unit viewer. This new app lets customers visualise different unit sizes in real life using their phones—so they can easily and accurately work out how much storage space they REALLY need.
