About us

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is a government-subvented body tasked to market and promote Hong Kong as a travel destination worldwide and to enhance visitors' experience once they arrive. The HKTB is headquartered in Hong Kong. Currently it has a worldwide network of 15 offices and has representatives in six different markets. The six objectives of the HKTB, as defined under the HKTB Ordinance, are to: 1) Endeavour to increase the contribution of tourism to Hong Kong; 2) Promote Hong Kong globally as a leading international city in Asia and a world-class tourist destination; 3) Promote the improvement of facilities for visitors; 4) Support the Government in promoting to the community the importance of tourism; 5) Support, as appropriate, the activities of persons providing services for visitors to Hong Kong; and 6) Make recommendations to and advise the Chief Executive (of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) in relation to any measures which may be taken to further any of the foregoing matters. In 2008 the HKTB established Meetings & Exhibitions Hong Kong (MEHK) to continue strengthening Hong Kong’s position as the premier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) in Asia Pacific. For MICE organisers, that means providing a host of service designed to make organising spectacular meetings or incentive travel programmes, a convention or an exhibition even simpler, smoother and more satisfying.

Cheers to Hong Kong’s Cocktail Culture! We are thrilled to announce that Hong Kong's very own Bar Leone and COA have made a splash at The World's 50 Best Bars 2024! Bar Leone has claimed the title of the Highest Hong Kong Bar on the list, coming in at an impressive No. 2, and COA has also earned its place at No. 18. Notably, Bar Leone also snagged the Best Bar in Asia 2024 and the Disaronno Highest New Entry Award! The inclusion of these globally recognised establishments follows the city claiming two places on the 51–100 long list revealed previously, which recognized Argo (No. 58) and The Savory Project (No. 82) among the very best bars in the world. These recognitions reinforce Hong Kong's status as a global hub for cocktail culture, showcasing our vibrant bar scene to the world. A huge congratulations to Bar Leone, COA, Argo and The Savory Project for their remarkable achievements! Their hard work and commitment to unforgettable guest experiences shine brightly in every cocktail served.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board is excited to announce the “Hong Kong Halloween” activation, featuring the 3D Celestial Projections light show at the Hong Kong Space Museum, running nightly until October 31. This enchanting display showcases five Halloween characters with Hong Kong characteristics, and guests may even encounter surprise flash mob performances. Another highlight includes a ghostly tram roaming Hong Kong Island, enhancing the festive spirit, alongside a pumpkin-themed ice cream truck in Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Mong Kok on select evenings (October 25 and 26). Special events, including an ice cream handout and a party tram performance, will take place on Halloween Night (October 31). Additionally, revelers can enjoy the HKTB’s Wine & Dine Festival at the Central Harbourfront. On October 26 and 27, the first 300 participants in Halloween costumes can enter for a chance to win tasting passes. Let’s celebrate this Halloween season together.

Exciting news from Paris and Art Basel! The Hong Kong Tourism Board has successfully launched the first event of a three-year global partnership with Art Basel at Art Basel Paris, held from 16 to 20 October. We brought a taste of Hong Kong to the Grand Palais, where visitors experienced the vibrant culture of our beloved Cha Chaan Teng café, sampling iconic dishes and enjoying a stunning installation by Hong Kong-based artist Trevor Yeung. Additionally, we hosted a networking cocktail reception, exploring the dynamic relationship between arts and tourism. Curators, collectors, and gallerists came together to foster invaluable cultural exchanges. Special thanks to Doryun Chong, Artistic Director and Chief Curator of M+, for leading discussions that bridge Hong Kong with global art hubs like Shanghai and Abu Dhabi. We’re thrilled to showcase Hong Kong’s unique blend of art and culinary heritage on the global stage. Join us in celebrating our city’s cultural charm, and we look forward to welcoming more art lovers to explore Hong Kong’s vibrant scene soon!
