Our latest learning from severe maladministration report is out today. It focuses on the ‘Big 6’ building safety compliance areas. The cases show the human impact of key obligations not being fulfilled to individuals. By grouping these cases together, it is possible to map reoccurring points of service failure and identify areas for learning. Complaints can act as an early warning sign for landlords. To test whether this is an isolated issue or further action is required to prevent repeated failings impacting other residents. This microlearning explores a landlord’s complaints policy with a focus on explaining when a matter cannot be considered a complaint or moved to stage 2. “I am a huge advocate for learning and for being an apprentice. If you ever get the chance to do this I would say, go for it!” This week, we are shining the spotlight on the Housing Ombudsman’s first ever apprentice. Sana is completing a Level 3 Learning and Development Practitioner course as part of an apprenticeship with the Sector Learning and Development team. “Since joining the team in October 2024, I have observed the delivery of our webinars, and workshops. It has been really insightful seeing everyone's different delivery styles.
