We're excited to have started work to deliver 64 new homes at the former health centre site in Greenock, Inverclyde. We’re working with The Scottish Government and Inverclyde Council to transform the site, in Duncan Street, and are building the new homes using our own in-house construction team. This gives us greater control over the build process and quality, as well as meaning we can start on-site sooner and bring much-needed new affordable homes to local communities more quickly. The development features a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom flats and houses, all available for social rent, and we expect the first new homes to be complete by early spring 2026. Sanctuary
Non-profit Organizations
We are a leading provider of housing, care and commercial services; the heart of our business is a housing association.
About us
We are Sanctuary. We were set up more than 50 years ago and now provide housing and care in England and Scotland to more than a quarter of a million people, owning and managing around 120,000 units of accommodation. We exist to serve our customers and communities. Our mission is to build affordable homes and sustainable communities where people choose to live. We are a not-for-profit housing association, which means we don’t make profits for shareholders. Instead we invest all the income we make – every penny – into delivering on our social purpose. We play our part in tackling the national housing crisis by building good quality affordable homes all over the UK. We build to a wide variety of needs and styles, with the aim of creating or adding to a sustainable community. Our regeneration projects transform communities by listening to residents and putting their needs first. Social housing is at the core of what we do, and we believe secure, good quality accommodation can be the foundation that enables people to achieve their goals in life.

Huge congratulations to our very own Katie Davies for being named Skills Champion of the Year at the West Midlands regional finals of the National Apprenticeships Awards! Katie now works with us as a talent acquisition planner after completing her customer service apprenticeship in 2023, and her award recognises her work championing apprenticeships to others. Since completing her apprenticeship Katie has continued to serve as an Apprentice Ambassador, sharing the benefits of apprenticeships to others both within our organisation and at schools, colleges and career fairs across the region. She also volunteers her time with a charity supporting members of the Gypsy Romany Traveller community, talking with young people about her own experiences and making them aware of the vocational education opportunities available. Well done Katie, we're really proud of you! https://ow.ly/X15h50TUjRq #Apprenticeships #LifeAtSanctuary

What's in a name? We've loved hearing the stories and experiences of our Race Equality Network members as part of Black History Month 2024. It has sparked some great conversations about cultural identity. Big thanks to our Race Equality Network Co-chair Lindi Urubusi for sharing this powerful blog about her name's meaning and the importance of embracing heritage. #ReclaimingNarrativesBHM #LifeAtSanctuary

It’s important to us to help create strong communities in areas where we have homes. At St Peter’s Church in Ipswich, we’ve worked with our suppliers to fund and fit a brand new kitchen that has become a lively hub for the local community. Watch our video to hear our residents talk about the practical and emotional support that the church has been able to offer thanks to the expanded kitchen. https://lnkd.in/eqHSaj-4
