About us

HRC Online was created to bring a fresh approach to online education, getting our founder named as one of HR Magazine's Most Influential Thinkers 2023 (The first CIPD training provider ever to be listed). HRC Online take an assessment-first approach to the study, breaking the content into smaller sections to maximise the impact of your learning time. HRC also allocate all learners to a single point of contact called a learning engagement mentor. They build a study plan, arrange a series of one-on-one video meetings, and share their calendar with you so that you're never alone. To really get the most benefit from your study, we also created a series of open sessions called LET'S TALK HR! where our panel of over 40 expert talks about current affairs and their approach to situations that also connect back to the CIPD syllabus, ensuring you able to get the most out of your studies. Today, it’s David Rock’s turn. Like most influential thinkers on Human Resources, Rock focused on the human aspect.     Is "just trust me" a sign of good leadership or a red flag? So often, managers want people to blindly follow their ideas and refrain from giving any information about what is happening. If you find yourself in a 'JUST TRUST ME' moment, and you dont feel comfortable, here are three things I would recommend ✅ Advocate for transparency. Encourage open communication ✅ Seek clarity. Ask specific questions to understand the situation better. ✅ Trust your instincts. If something feels off, don't ignore it. A strong team is built on trust, transparency, and open communication. Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself and your team.

    Five things to consider before you start studying 🗺️ A Plan Knowing when and how to study is essential. Many people who think, "I'll just study here or there without a plan," often struggle to get started with their studies. 📅 When you will study So often we sit down with our learners during onboarding we create a study plan go through their week and commitments and work out what gaps they have in their schedule so we can allocate some deadlines. 🪑 Where will you Study When it comes to studying, it's all about location, location, location you dont want to be studying somewhere you can get easily distracted so finding a clean space without distractions will help loads. ❓ Why are you studying? When it comes to studying there is always some sacrifice and therefore you need to know WHY you're doing this is it money, promotion or the challenge print off a reminder and have it in your study space to remind yourself why you're studying 🍬 Reward My rewards are normally in the fridge, but yours can be anything past a unit: REWARD, submit an assessment REWARD, actually start studying REWARD, because it's Tuesday REWARD. Celebrate your wins reward your effort and whatever you do dont make your only reward 8/12 months away.

    Do you offer a price match? NO... Here's why Not all courses are the same. I decided with HRC Online that we want to be the most supportive online CIPD Training provider in the market. How do we do it? 📅 Open Calendars Need support? Just click your link to your learning mentor and book an online face-to-face appointment at a time that works for you. We ensure nobody has to wait longer than a day for a face-to-face meeting; we also have regular check-ins planned and booked. Removing this feature could save the business tens of thousands a year, and all learner feedback could be moved into an email ticketing system. 🗣️ Feedback One of the biggest learning opportunities is when you submit assessments and get feedback. CIPD rules are that feedback should be a detailed summary with some developmental points as a summary and detailed feedback on any question that is failed. We go a step further and provide a detailed feedback summary as well as detailed feedback per question, focusing on 3 critical things. - Addressing the Verb - What is Good - How you can Improve Giving detailed and personalised feedback per question is time-consuming and expensive, but we feel it's an important part of improvement. We could follow the base guidelines and save hundreds of pounds per learner on marking and pass on that savings, but we decided against it. 🩰 Flexibility Finally, for us, flexibility is key to successful online learning, and we didn't want to build a fine-based provider to sell you a cheap course, but if you go off track, you have to pay extension fines or new submission fines. When you enrol with us on our ONE package, you have 24 months of access; if work gets busy or family need you, I couldn't bear the idea of fining you for not submitting your assessment on time, so we made the decision to make it open access for 24 months you control the timeline (you should only need 8/10months to pass CIPD L5) SO.... No, I won't be price-matching anyone. I will not set traps for fines or reduce the quality of our feedback to make our price more appealing at this time. Maybe I may have to consider some of these practices if people stop choosing to enrol with us, but at this time, we are growing and helping people succeed in a business that makes me proud of what we do and how we do it.

    Should you STUDY before applying for HR jobs? 🏃 You are ready to go: Employers see your investment in development as a commitment to your studies, rather than just applying for any random job. 🤝 It shows commitment to finishing things: You did it. You studied, you completed, you succeeded. That is a subconscious nod to potential employers that you can start and, more importantly, finish things. 📈 Increase in salary: Jobs usually have salary ranges, and if you’ve already completed your qualification, you will be looking at the higher end of the bracket.

    🗣️ 'I dont use my CIPD qualification anymore' - GOOD! There is sometimes a misconception that when you study for a professional qualification, the course and material should give you all the tools and answers you need to succeed in your career. It is not possible for CIPD to predict the future, but qualification should do two essential things. ✅ Remove the 'I think.' and replace it with 'evidence shows.' ✅ Enable you to retain value within the employment market. I like the CIPD qualification for both of these reasons, as the syllabus design poses questions that you research and produce evidence to give a recommendation to employers and within the employment market, you will find that CIPD is essential for multiple jobs. There are some AMAZING resources for up-to-date information. CIPD is one, but there are so many amazing thought leaders who produce amazing content to allow you to be successful and challenge your thinking now. Just be sure that the format followed is not 'I THINK' but 'EVIDENCE SHOWS.' It can be very easy to forget the steps that enabled you to build confidence in your career, and different people will value experiences differently.
