About us

Disruptive HR aims to change outdated people practices for good! We work with HR and Leaders all over the world, providing both inspiration and practical support. The Disruptive HR Club is our global community designed to help HR professionals stay ahead of the curve and learn new skills, with all the resources they need to be successful in today's ever-changing world. We also offer training, keynotes and in-house workshops that enable our clients to change HR for good and make it more relevant for a disrupted world. Our approach to HR is underpinned by our unique EACH framework (Employees as Adults, Consumers and Human beings) and our belief that organisational performance is enhanced by moving away from traditional parental, one-size-fits-all processes that have dominated the people function for decades.

    Last week, I participated in HR Tech Europe with my amazing Viktoriia Mezheritska. AI was Everywhere! However, I also appreciated the AI skeptics and critical thinkers in the room. So here’s a summary of my insights. We’re at the AI assistance stage, mainly using generative AI to answer various questions, saving 15-30% of our time. However, real automation with multi-functional agents is still underway, and full AI Autonomy, which will eliminate jobs, is still a vague possibility for HR professionals since the essence of our work is working with an immersive human nature and relationships between us. Josh Bersin’s thought that resonated with me a lot is that software is not a problem right now. It’s the data. We all have many platforms, each with AI built-in, but it’s still hard to put all the information together —your HRIS doesn’t communicate with your Knowledge base and Recruiting tool, right? That’s where Josh’s analogy of a kitchen drawer with 90 tools is excellent. We end up with too many tools for all possible tasks that don’t solve your problem anyway. On top of that, research says that only 25% of HR leaders are satisfied with the technology they purchased. Our tools and multi-year contracts are haunting us. I was very inspired by the panel with Netflix, BBC, and Mollie People Leaders on Purpose-Driven Leadership in the Digital Age. BBC’s people leader talked about looking for a clinical psychologist, a trauma expert, and a user experience designer to design the organizational processes on top of a generalized HR background. Moolie’s People Leader talked about tripling offsite budgets to bring people together and build the culture they want. Netflix’s leader highlighted their open culture, where almost every employee has access to everything, and how they operate in full transparency. I loved the Disruptive HR Agile presentation about the importance of introducing product thinking and flexibility to HR processes rather than maintaining the perfect annual cadence we cling to so much. I could add more about the Mentimeter learning curiosity session and the Chief Health Officers’ wellbeing session, but there is not enough place in one post, so I’ll keep it at that for now. It was wonderful to share moments with such talented people like Arthur Hol, Priyanka Karmakar, Mihaela Dobre and Daniel Ifiemi Obubo. Moreover, there were thousands of HR professionals from Europe, Americas, Middle East and Asia Pacific sharing experiences, listening expert speakers in People & Culture, game-changing insights from disruptive HR Think Thanks, and a network of international HR & Talent Acquisition experts 🌍 All of us wanted to learn about the latest HRIS / HRIT technologies and apps to improve the end-to-end Employee Experience. 🙌 I particularly enjoyed the pitches of Olive Turon (TestGorilla), Wendy Van Ierschot (VIE People | B Corp Certified), Melissa Shelley Höjwall (H&M) and Lucy Adams (Disruptive HR).
