Hub North Scotland is the strategic partner of choice for the planning, procurement and delivery of community-based infrastructure projects across the north of Scotland. The organisation has been responsible for £700 million of projects for our public sector clients and partners in the education, healthcare and emergency services sectors. Established in 2011, Hub North Scotland has been at the forefront of the hubco model’s implementation throughout the country. The organisation covers an expansive territory stretching from the southern tip of Aberdeenshire on the east coast to the islands of Orkney and Shetland in the north, Argyll to the south and the Western Isles. The first DBFM (design, build, finance and maintain) programme in Scotland under the hubco model was delivered by Hub North Scotland when the Aberdeen Community Health and Care Village was handed over in December 2013.

Here’s a flyover video showing the latest developments in the beach development works. Three key sites are being worked on – either side of the Boulevard and Broad Hill - as part of a £50million programme to help make the beach area a must-visit destination. The major improvements will see the creation of a class-leading beach park, a large events field and the enhancement of the famed Broadhill in Phase A of the beachfront works. The works are part of the biggest redevelopment of Aberdeen beachfront for 35 years as part of Aberdeen City Council’s City Centre and Beach Master Plan (CCBMP). There have been over 150 posters received from primary schools across Aberdeen in response to a poster competition titled 'What construction looks like to me' The posters are now decorating the walls, offices, canteen and create an amazing entry experience to the Aberdeen City Vision Beachfront Site as visitors and staff will get to see all the art on display as they come into site. The posters really have helped bring the site to life and add some character. Thank you to young people from Sunnybank School Seaton School Brimmond school for providing such great artworks for us to choose from. Keep an eye out for the results of the digger and roller naming competition I've also been running with local schools! Here is a fly-though of what Union Street Central will pretty much look like when it’s finished. The major works upgrading part of Union Street – from Market Street to Bridge Street - will include more pavement space and an entrance for the new market building. The works to the area will make it more attractive and vibrant while promoting walking and cycling as part of the City Centre and Beach Masterplan. The works include new pavements with Scottish whinstone and locally-sourced granite for the new street surface.
