  • Exciting Leadership Update The Board of hub West Scotland (hWS) Limited is delighted to welcome Andrew Baillie as a new director, representing our public sector partners. Andrew brings a wealth of experience to the role as Assistant Director – Infrastructure Planning and Delivery at our shareholder and partner, NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (NHSGGC). Having worked closely with the hub West team for many years, he is well-placed to make a significant impact. Iain Marley, Chief Executive of hub West Scotland, said: "We are thrilled to have Andrew on board.   • We are thrilled to see the excellent progress on-site as we approach the completion of our twelfth project in partnership with NHS Greater Glasgow. Our sincere thanks go to Renfrewshire HSCP, our dedicated professional team, and our supply chain partners, particularly Fleming Buildings, for their high-quality work and commitment.   The building is set for completion this summer, and it’s fantastic to see the significant local community benefits already being delivered. To date, over £2.4 million has been spent with Scottish SMEs, alongside substantial social value through our locally focused initiatives in education, employment, wellbeing, volunteering, and SME development.     This week, NHSGGC Chair, Dr Lesley Thomson KC, welcomed Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Neil Gray, to ‘top out’ Bishopton and Dargavel’s newest healthcare facility. As part of the new Dargavel Village development, the healthcare facility represents a significant local investment in partnership with NHSGGC, Renfrewshire HSCP, and Hub West Scotland. This new facility will complement the existing health centre in Bishopton, which was refurbished in 2022 and will serve both the residents of ‘Old Bishopton’ and ‘New Dargavel’.   • Hub West is pleased to have reached a key milestone for this important refurbishment project. We are working closely with the Possilpark People’s Trust whilst we move through the development phase. Critical funding for the project has been secured from Glasgow City Council, Scottish Government’s RCGF fund, The Robertson Trust, Garfield Weston Foundation, and The Clothworkers Foundation.     Planning Submitted for the new primary school in Dargavel . jmarchitects have submitted planning permission on behalf of Hub West Scotland and Renfrewshire Council for the design of a new primary school within the Dargavel Village masterplan. . “We are delighted to announce that we have reached a milestone in the design and delivery of the new school by submitting the proposals for planning permission to Renfrewshire Council. The project aims to deliver not only a modern and inclusive primary school for the young people of Dargavel, but also a vital community facility within the Dargavel Village masterplan.   • We are thrilled to have achieved Practical Completion of the Parkhead Hub, a true landmark project for our partner NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. This state-of-the-art facility represents a transformational investment in the Parkhead district, combining essential health and social care services with community-focused amenities. As Scotland’s largest net-zero carbon health and social care centre, it sets a new benchmark for sustainability and community regeneration. Achieving this milestone is a testament to the dedication and collaboration of our entire project team, whose efforts have also generated over £19.5m in social value through local employment, apprenticeships, and supply chain engagement.     The new Parkhead Health and Social Care Hub in Glasgow is only weeks away from opening to patients and the public. It will provide services for children, adults and older people, addictions, justice, homelessness, sexual health and health improvement, with GP services, community pharmacy and dental services. The facility will also provide community spaces including bookable rooms, a café and the relocated Parkhead library, which is operated by Glasgow Life. Read more: https://bit.ly/4gDKowY
